Biman Bangladesh plane skids off runway in Yangon, 17 injured

  • The Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft was carrying 29 passengers and four crew when it bounced while landing during heavy winds in Myanmar's commercial capital, Bangladesh's ambassador said. The plane was severely damaged.

  • The 17 who sustained mostly minor injuries were admitted to a local hospital, Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, told Reuters.

  • It alleged the development was “victimisation” owing to Ms. Jaising's stringent and public objection to the manner in which the sexual harassment complaint of a former apex court employee against Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi was dealt with.

  • From idols dating back to the Gupta period (5th-6th Century AD) to terracotta objects of the Harappan culture, a range of Indian antiquities and artefacts that were smuggled by Subhash Kapoor have been identified by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) during a team’s recent visit to the United States.
