• Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is planning to travel to India in September just days before he faces elections, official and diplomatic sources confirmed to The Hindu.


• Mr. Netanyahu, who was due to be in Delhi in February this year, also just ahead of the last Israeli election, will make a “short visit”, possibly just for a day on September 9, where he is due to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and discuss the bilateral relationship.

• The government has infused over Rs 3.15 lakh crore into Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in the 11 years through 2018-19, Parliament was informed on Monday.


• Replying to a question related to capital shortage in PSBs to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Singh Thakur said as per RBI guidelines, banks in India are required to maintain a minimum capital to risk-weighted assets ratio (CRAR) of 9 per cent.

• The BCCI on Monday appointed ex-India captain Rahul Dravid as Head Cricket, National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.


• Dravid will oversee all cricket related activities at NCA and will be involved in mentoring, coaching, training and motivating players, coaches and support staff, the BCCI said. Dravid had been head coach of India A and Under-19 men's teams since 2015.
