• British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned the European Union he will not delay Brexit beyond October 31, underlining that his latest proposals are a last chance to reach a deal.


• Johnson told French President Emmanuel Macron in a telephone call that "the EU should not be lured into the mistaken belief that the UK will stay in the EU after October 31st", a Downing Street spokesman quoted him as saying.


• The UK premier said he would not request another delay, despite British MPs passing a law last month that requires him to seek another Brexit delay if he fails to secure an agreement by the end of a make-or-break EU summit on October 17-18.

• Iran's oil minister said that China's CNPC has withdrawn from the development of an offshore gas field and that state-owned Petropars will take over the entire project.


• The South Pars gas field was to be developed jointly by France's Total, China National Petroleum Corporation, and Petropars under a $4.8-billion (4.1 billion-euro) deal signed in July 2017.


• The deal came after Iran reached a 2015 agreement with world powers that gave it relief from sanctions in exchange for limits on its nuclear program, ending years of economic isolation.

• Pakistan’s former military ruler Pervez Musharraf is set to return to the politics by reviving his party after remaining inactive for over an year due to his deteriorating health, according to media reports on.


• General (retd) Musharraf, 76, who has been living in Dubai since March 2016, is facing the treason case for suspending the Constitution in 2007, a punishable offense for which he was indicted in 2014.

• US President Donald Trump and Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan discussed the planed ‘safe zone’ in northeastern Syria.


• Turkish president office, in a statement, said that Erdogan is expected to visit the US next month, reported Sputnik.


• “Our president had a phone conversation with Donald Trump. In addition to issues related to bilateral ties, the sides exchanged opinions on the planned safe zone in northern Syria, east of the Euphrates River,” the Turkey presidency said in a press statement.

• India's rising tennis sensation Sumit Nagal, who reached the semifinals of the ATP Challenger Campinas, has moved up by six places to the 129 spot in the latest men's singles rankings.
