• Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has formally unveiled his government's legislative agenda for the coming parliamentary session - an early test for his minority government.


• Mr. Trudeau's Liberals were re-elected in October but are 13 seats shy of a majority in the House of Commons, meaning they will have to rely on the support of other parties to enact their agenda if they want to hold on to power.


• That agenda was outlined by Governor General Julie Payette, the Queen's representative in Canada, in the speech from the throne.

• The US has completed implementation of H-1B electronic registration process for the 2021 cap season and the petitions for the most sought after work visa among Indian IT professionals will be accepted from April 1, 2020, the country's immigration agency has announced.


• The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise.

• A 139-member contingent of the China's People's Liberation Army arrived in Meghalaya for the joint military exercise with India, officials said.


• The eighth India-China joint training exercise'Hand-in-Hand 2019' would commence at Umroi in Meghalaya.


• Led by Major General Li Shizhong and Senior Colonel Wang Weijun from the Tibet Military command, the Chinese contingent will take part in the exercise planned at company-level with respective battalion headquarters controlling the training, the officials said.

• Soon the ongoing Jharkhand Assembly election ends with the counting of votes on December 23, the Election Commission plans to set in motion the process for the Delhi Assembly elections, slated for early next year.


• According to sources in the polls, the election schedule for the Delhi polls could be announced by January 10. The Model Code of Conduct would come in place simultaneously with the announcement.


• Sensing the poll announcement could come by early next month, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government in the city is seeking to announce the start of pending projects before the code of conduct is in place. • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday invited those who are interested in providing suggestions on simplifying and easing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) filing process.

• The banking personnel selection body, IBPS, would conduct preliminary exam for Specialist Officer (SO) selection on December 28 and December 29.


• The exam would be the first selection exam and the screening test for selection to main exam which is scheduled to be held on January 25.

• Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducted the Civil Judge recruitment exam on November 24.


• The results are expected in January, 2020 as per the latest update, mentioned in the annual recruitment calendar released on November 30, by the Commission.


• Through this recruitment, TNPSC would select and recommend candidates for the post of Civil Judge in the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service. A total of 176 vacancies will be filled through this exam.

• The Reserve Bank of India announced on Friday that it has decided to make the National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) system available on a round-the-clock basis from December 16.


• The facility is used to electronically transfer funds of banks which are members of this system, from one account to another.


• "The system will be available on all days of the year, including holidays," RBI said in a notification.
