• It’s been a year since the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) formed its government in Islamabad. But nothing stopped Mr. Khan becoming the Prime Minister.


• A year later, many issues still remain the same, if not worse, according to political analysts. “What do they have to show? All they have done is to repeat the mantra of ‘chor, dark, literary’ [thieves, dacoits, and looters] for the Opposition, while not doing much for the people of Pakistan, said Iftikhar Ahmad, a senior journalist. “The PTI is on a mission to eliminate the Opposition. • UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled 1.8 billion pounds ($2.2 billion) in additional funding for the National Health Service, delivering on a pledge made during the 2016 Brexit referendum campaign.


• The money will be used to add hospital beds, wards, and cutting-edge equipment, according to a statement from the prime minister’s office. Of the total, 850 million pounds will be used at 20 hospitals nationwide.

• Responding to comments by business leaders of an economic slowdown, outgoing Congress chief Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Centre can “only destroy” what had been built over decades.

• The Indian Army had asked the Pakistan Army to take back the bodies of their Border Action Team (BAT) squad lying in Indian territory, Army sources said.


• “Pakistan Army has been offered to approach with a white flag and take over the bodies for last rites. Pakistan Army is yet to respond,” an Army source said. The bodies are lying in the open, he added.

• Corporation Bank registered a net profit of ₹103.27 crore in the first quarter of 2019-20 as against a profit of ₹84.96 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, recording a growth of 21.55 per cent.


• The gross NPA (non-performing asset) of the bank stood at 15.44 percent (17.44 percent), and net NPA at 5.69 percent (11.46 percent) during the period.

• Situ Mallick, aged 16, passed away in a road accident near Jarimula under Rajnagar area of Kendrapara district, Odisha.


• He had saved his uncle from the jaws of a crocodile and was awarded National Bravery Award 2019 instituted by the Indian Council for Child Welfare from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Situ Mallick and his cousin Bapu Mallick were the 2 persons killed in a road accident.
