• A Pakistan minister has courted controversy by saying that any country that will support India over the Kashmir issue will be hit by a missile by Pakistan and considered as an "enemy" of Islamabad.


• "If tensions with India rise on Kashmir, Pakistan will be compelled to go to war. • Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Saudi Arabia said that he is not from a "political family" but carries a very humble background and selling tea on the railway platform was a part of his life journey.

• India signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia to launch the RuPay card in the country, making it the third nation in the West Asia to initiate India's digital payment system which will benefit not only the 2.6 million Indians in the Gulf Kingdom but also Haj and Umrah pilgrims.


• The RuPay card is a first-of-its-kind Indian domestic Debit and Credit Card payment network, with acceptance at ATMs, POS devices and e-commerce websites.


• It was launched in 2012 to fulfill the Reserve Bank of India's vision to have a domestic, open and multilateral system of payments.

• GATE 2020 application portal is open again to facilitate students from Jammu and Kashmir apply for the exam. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted for admission to M.Tech./M.E. programmes offered at technical institutes in India.


• The application window for GATE 2020 closed on October 5 but the link has been activated again only for students from Jammu and Kashmir.

• State Bank of India (SBI) has released the final result for the Junior Associate recruitment exam. The result is available on the 'Career' portal of State Bank of India. Main examination was held between August 10 and September 20, 2019.


• The bank has released the roll numbers of the candidates who have been provisionally selected for the post.


• The selection is provisional and subject to qualifying the Proficiency Test in Local Language(s) and fulfilling the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Bank at the time of advertisement.

• Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (I), 2020.


• The last date to apply for UPSC CDS Exam (I) 2020 is November 19, 2019 till 6:00 pm. The minimum educational qualification required for eligibility is a degree obtained from a recognized institute or university.


• Through the CDS examination, UPSC selects candidates for admission to Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, and Officers' Training Academy, Chennai.

• Central Bank of India's Recruitment and Promotion Division of Human Resources Development Department has started a recruitment process for selection of Officers in Specialist Category (aslo known as Specialist Officers or SO) in various streams today.

• The prelim exam for recruitment of Assistants by LIC began today. The exam will be conducted in multiple shifts on October 30 and 31.


• The first shift of the exam scheduled today is already over. The early verdict is that the difficulty-level of the question paper was easy to moderate.


• This exam was of 60 minutes duration in which a candidate had to solve a maximum of 100 questions. There were three sections in the exam: Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions), Reasoning Ability (35 Questions) and English Language (30 questions).


• The exam was objective in nature and each question had five options. There is no negative marking for the prelim exam.

• Staff Selection Commission or SSC, the Central hiring body which conducts recruitment to various government departments and ministries, has released the SSC CGL answer key for the Tier II examination held for the recruitment year 2018.

• Nearly 56 lakh students, who would be taking the Uttar Pradesh Board examination, will no longer have to face hurdles in getting any rectification done in their educational certificates as the Board has made online arrangements now.


• Board secretary Nina Srivastava said district schools would be collecting the existing certificates from the schools in the district and corrections would be made as per the school records.

• Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC), Bihar has released recruitment notice for Mobile Squad Constable post.


• There are 496 vacancies available. Candidates who are selected will be recruited with the Transport department. The application process has begun online and will conclude on November 29, 2019.


• The selection process will involve a written exam which will be of qualifying nature followed by a Physical Measurement/Efficiency Test. The exam date will be announced by the Board later.

• The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi, have developed 'Tamanna' (which stands for Try And Measure Aptitude And Natural Abilities), an Aptitude Test for senior school students to enable the stakeholders know the aptitude of students of classes 9 and 10.


• As a collaborative work, according to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, under its aegis this test module has been developed, piloting of the aptitude test was done by the CBSE with 17,000 students studying in classes 9 and 10 through its affiliated schools across different parts of the country.

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a penalty of Rs. 1 crore on Bandhan Bank for not bringing down the promoter shareholding to 40 per cent.


• Bandhan MFI had obtained in-principle universal banking license from the central bank in 2014 and started full-fledged operations as a bank from August 2015.


• RBI imposed the penalty on account of failure to pare the shareholding of Bandhan Financial Holdings to 40 percent of its paid-up voting capital, within three years from the commencement of the business of the bank, the lender said in a BSE filing.

• Reportedly, the reason behind his death was "accidental fall at his home". Justice Venkatachala served as a Supreme Court judge from July 1992 to July 1995.
