• Scott Lang, the new chief executive officer of Turvo Inc., wants to emphasize an important corporate policy at his startup: Employees may not entertain clients at strip clubs and certainly not bill those trips to the business.

• The rule is salient because his predecessor was fired for doing just that.


• The board accused the co-founder, Eric Gilmore, of expensing $76,120 at strip clubs over a three-year span and removed him as CEO in May, according to legal filings. Gilmore, 39, didn’t deny the accusations, but he sued the company, claiming the board didn’t follow the proper protocol for his termination. Turvo said it did, and they settled in September. Gilmore declined to comment through a spokesman.

• A US state department representative for religious freedoms globally has expressed concern over the Citizenship Amendment Act and the US embassy in New Delhi has urged its citizens in northeast India to “exercise caution” in view of protests and disturbances in relation to the legislation.


• But the US government has not endorsed a call issued last week by an autonomous body — the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) — for sanctioning Indian leadership responsible for the legislation if it was also passed in the Rajya Sabha. • A key BJP ally in the northeast, which had supported the amended Citizenship Act, has now decided to oppose it.


• The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) announced its stand after a crucial meeting attended by senior party leaders. The party has now decided to approach the Supreme Court against the contentious law.


• The party leaders have also decided to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over the matter. The AGP is part of the BJP-led Assam government headed by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and has three ministers in the state cabinet.

• The curfew imposed in the wake of protests over amended Citizenship Act in Guwahati has been relaxed from 9 am to 6 pm on Sunday.


• Protests erupted in Guwahati and other parts of Assam following the passage of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019, in the Parliament.


• Three people have been reported dead so far, while many others have been injured in clashes between the security forces and protestors.

• The Meghalaya government will pass a resolution during a special session of the Legislative Assembly on December 19 seeking implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state, officials said.


• "The Business Advisory Committee of the state Assembly has approved to hold a special session on December 19 to allow the state government passes an official resolution to seek implementation of the ILP," an official of the House told PTI.

• Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC) has released the admit card for the Bihar Home Guards recruitment 2019 on December 13, 2019.


• Candidates who have registered for the examination can download their admit card online at csbc.bih.nic.in. The written examination will be held on December 29, 2019, from 10 am to 12 noon. Candidates have to report at the centre latest by 9 am.


• The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 98 vacancies of constable.

• Amid the ongoing protests in the northeast, the Joint CSIR-UGC NET examination, scheduled to be held on 15 December, has been postponed until further notification.

• A public notice issued by National Testing Agency, an autonomous organization under the Department of Higher Education, said, “The candidates scheduled to appear in Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2019 examination in Assam (Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, Sivasagar, and Tezpur) and Meghalaya (Shillong) are hereby informed that their examination has been postponed.”
