• Rohingya and Latin American human rights groups submitted the lawsuit in Argentina under the principle of "universal jurisdiction," a legal concept enshrined in many countries' laws.


• The premise is that some acts including war crimes and crimes against humanity are so horrific they are not specific to one nation and can be tried anywhere.

• Venezuela’s former military intelligence chief has gone missing in Spain just days after a court approved a request for his extradition to the United States on drug trafficking charges, police said.

• New Zealand lawmakers voted in favour of making euthanasia legal, paving the way for the issue to be put to voters in a referendum next year.


• The law, enabling terminally ill people to request a medically assisted death was passed 69-51 at its final reading, ending years of passionate debate in parliament.


• Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has publicly stated her support for euthanasia reform and reluctantly voted for the referendum saying it was the only way of advancing the legislation.

• In a move that may positively impact over 10 million people living on the coastline, India on Wednesday kicked-off a USD 43 million project to boost climate resilience in three coastal states in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).


• The project is funded by the Green Climate Fund, established within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to assist developing countries.


• The six-year project will build climate-resilient livelihoods for 1.7 million people in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha, offset 3.5 million tonnes of carbon, protect vulnerable ecosystems, and benefit another 10 million people with improved shoreline protection, the UNDP said in a statement.

• The Supreme Court will deliver its verdict on a bunch of pleas seeking a review of its September 2018 order allowing the entry of women of all ages into Kerala’s Sabarimala Temple that triggered protests by traditionalists in the state.


• The temple will open for an annual three-month pilgrimage on November 17. As many as 65 petitions were filed against the September 28, 2018, verdict that ended the ban on entry for women and girls of menstruating age, between 10 and 50 years, into the temple and upheld the right to equality of worship.

• Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released the second dummy admit card today, on November 14, 2019.


• Students can make corrections in the admit card before November 20. Intermediate candidates can download their dummy admit cards online at bsebinteredu.in while class 10th candidates can download their dummy admit card at www.biharboard.online.


• BSEB had earlier released the first dummy admit card on September 19. After the students made corrections in the first one, the second dummy admits card has now been released after which the final admit card will be issued.

• Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) has released the answer key of UTET 2019 exam on its official website.


• Candidates who had appeared for the UTET 2019 exam can check their answer key online at ubse.uk.gov.in. UBSE has released the answer keys for both, part 1 and 2 exams.


• UBSE had conducted the UTET 2019 exam on November 6 on 172 exam centers in 29 cities. UTET 2019 was conducted in two shifts.

• SoftBank's Yahoo Japan, one of Japan's top internet firms, confirmed it is in talks to merge with Line, a $27 billion union that would bring the messaging app operator under the SoftBank umbrella in a major tech shake-up.


• Yahoo Japan, which last month changed its name to Z Holdings, discussions were underway with Line but nothing had been decided. SoftBank, which owns almost half of Z Holdings, also acknowledged the talks.

• Failure to meet the average monthly balance or AMB requirements leads to penalty charges payable by the customer.


• For regular savings accounts held in HDFC Bank's branches located in metros and urban regions, customers are required to maintain an average monthly balance of Rs. 10,000 to avoid penalty charges, according to the lender's website - hdfcbank.com.

• Unilever named non-executive director Nils Andersen as its new chairman, to utilise his deep experience across consumer goods and logistics industries to help the Dove soap maker navigate a dip in emerging market sales growth and fix its foods business.

• KKR India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sanjay Nayar has resigned from the board of Coffee Day Enterprises, which operates India's largest coffee chain Café Coffee Day.


• Nayar had joined Coffee Day's board after the private equity firm's investment in the company in 2010. KKR currently owns a 6.07% stake in Coffee Day Enterprises.

• The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) released new three-dimensional images from the moon's surface captured by the Chandrayaan -2.


• The images of a crater from the lunar surface was captured by the Terrain Mapping Camera-2 aboard Chandrayaan-2.


• "Have a look at a 3D view of a crater imaged by TMC-2 of #Chandrayaan2. TMC-2 provides images at 5m spatial resolution & stereo triplets (fore, nadir and aft views) for preparing DEM of the complete lunar surface," ISRO tweeted from its official handle.
