• The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested the alleged mastermind of so-called Islamic State (IS)’s Tamil Nadu module, news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.


• Mohammed Azarudeen, the alleged mastermind, was arrested after the NIA carried out searches at seven locations in Coimbatore.

• The ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI) and HDFC Bank reported highest number of cases, according to an RBI data.


• Of the total 53,334 cases of frauds reported during 2008-09 and 2018-19 fiscal years, involving a whopping Rs 2.05 lakh crore, a highest of 6,811 were reported by the ICICI Bank involving Rs 5,033.81 crore.

• India's second mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-2, is scheduled to lift off at 2:51 am on July 15 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.


• Space agency ISRO is giving final touches to the 3.8 ton satellite that has cost the country more than Rs. 600 crore.


• After launch, the Chandrayaan-2 satellite will take several weeks before it heads for a challenging soft-landing on the south pole of the moon, a territory that has never been visited by any space craft.
