  • Typhoon Hagibis, which means “speed” in the Philippine language Tagalog, is due to make landfall on Japan's main island of Honshu late, a month after one of the strongest typhoons to hit the country in recent years destroyed or damaged 30,000 houses and caused extensive power outages.

  • Hundreds of thousands of households in Japan were advised to evacuate due to fears of flooding as a powerful typhoon was set to make landfall late on Saturday, bringing with it the heaviest rain and winds in 60 years.

  • Over 1,300 vehicles were left stranded as the Jammu-Srinagar national highway was closed for traffic since last night due to a landslide in Ramban district, officials said.

  • The 270-km highway, the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country, was closed by a landslide triggered during the widening of the road near the first bridge in Ramban district on Thursday night, they said.

  • Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in March this year, revised its evaluation scheme for class 12 students and proposed practical/internal component for subjects like Mathematics, Political Science, and Legal Studies.

AIIMS PG 2020: Final Registration Date Extended For January Exam

  • AIIMS has extended the last date to complete the final registration process for the AIIMS PG entrance exam which will be conducted in January 2020.

  • Earlier the last date to complete the process was October 11 which has now been extended to October 16, 2019.

  • Consequently, all other application related activities have been pushed further.

  • The status of the final registration (accepted or rejected) will be released on the AIIMS website on October 23, 2019. The last date to submit documents for the regularization of the rejected application is October 29, 2019.

RBI introduces new reporting system for co-operative banks
