shape Q1

There are rabbits and pigeons. There are 200 heads and 580 legs. How many pigeons are there ?
    A. 101 B. 110 C. 111 D. 112

Let no of rabbits be x.
And, the number of pigeons be y.
So,
x + y = 200 ---> 1.
y = 200 -x.
Rabbits have 4 legs, the pigeon has 2.
So, 4x + 2y = 580 ---> 2.
Sub value of y in eqn 2.
=> 4x + 2(200 - x) = 580
=> 4x + 400 - 2x = 580
=> 2x = 580 - 400
=> 2x = 180, x = 90.
Sub the value of x in y = 200 - x.
=> y = 200 - 90
=> y = 110.
Therefore,
The number of rabbits = 90.
Number of pigeons = 110.
