Introduction
A Sport is colossally defined as a structured form of play and a competitive physical activity which is sometimes formally organized and at times is casually organized. Sports aim to maintain and improve the physical ability and skills of the players or participants while providing great entertainment to the viewers. Sports is a major income generating industry in several countries. Example: Basket Ball, Tennis, Foot Ball, Cricket, Shuttle etc. Games or Sports can broadly be classified as Indoor and Outdoor games.
Games are at times played purely for entertainment, sometimes for achievement or rewards and trophies. Some games involve single players and others involve multiple players i.e. teams. Example: In Chess there is a single player involved on each side, whereas in Basket Ball there are multiple players in each team. With the advent of Internet, there are now online games that can be played without the players interacting with each other and by sitting at the comfort of homes. The crucial components of games are goals/score, rules, umpires/referee, and interaction. Games involve mental or physical stimulation, and often both. Many games help develop practical skills, while some games serve as a form of exercise, or otherwise perform an educational, or psychological role.
Indoor games are those that are played, situated, done or used inside a building, for example, an indoor swimming pool championship. Whereas, Outdoor games are those games that are played, or are conducted outside in a play field rather than in a building. Example:Football, outdoor swimming, volleyball, cricket, basketball, table tennis, etc. The article Sports Terminology lists the different terms used in different sports and games.
