Famous Personalities Autobiography

shape Introduction

What is an autobiography?
  • An autobiography is a focused account of the writer's own life written from the writer's point of view.

  • In simple words, it is the self-written account of one's life from the moment of composition.

  • Autobiographies fall into the category of nonfiction.

  • Although these can be abbreviated as a summary of an entire life, they usually have a focus on an individual’s accomplishment or experience that is a part of the whole life of the writer.

shape Framework

Conceptual Framework
The figure below will define the method for crafting an autobiography:

Writing guidelines
  • Autobiographies are personal documents that reflect the views and reactions of the writer. Therefore, it is written typically in the first person, and so, there is the use of the pronoun ‘I' in it.

  • Writing in this way will make it easier for the writer to reflect life events and provide some perspective to the same.

  • Since it is a work of non-fiction, autobiographies are expected to be accurate yet creative to maintain the interests of the reader.

To keep the reader engrossed, here are three basic criteria to keep in mind while writing an autobiography:
  • Focus on one aspect of life that may be a job family or a loss of a loved one and then dig into it. Use the content to embrace mistakes and tell the readers what the learnings are.

  • Focus only on the essential details of the story. Also, make the writing clear.

  • Autobiography should be written in the form of a story. A catchy lead, in the beginning, is excellent. Further characters and plot can be developed. In the end, the readers must be left thinking about the learnings of the writer.
