Important International Organizations

shape Introduction

An International organization is an organization with an international membership, scope, or presence primarily established to maintain international peace , security and to develop healthy and friendly relations between nations. International Organizations are set up in different parts of the world with different head of the organizations for each entity. International Organizations (associations) with their presence all over the globe, hold a critical place in world undertakings. The International associations have mass effects on nations, laws and even worldwide costs.
Amnesty International, an International Organization is focused on worldwide peacekeeping and human rights, whileOPEC [The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries] keeps up strength in worldwide interest and supply of oil. Subsequently, these associations deal with a wide scope of issues that rise above worldwide limits and nearby laws. This article gives a list of vital International Organizations and their Headquarters.
Mainly there are 2 types of International Organizations. The first type is: International Nongovernmental Organizations (INGOs): Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that operate internationally. These include international non-profit organizations and worldwide companies such as the World Organization of the Scout Movement, International Committee of the Red Cross and Médecins Sans Frontières. The second type is : Intergovernmental Organizations, also known as international governmental organizations (IGOs): the type of organization most closely associated with the term 'international organization', which are organizations that are made up primarily of sovereign states (referred to as member states). Primary examples include the United Nations (UN), Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Council of Europe (COE), International Labour Organization (ILO) and International Police Organization (INTERPOL). The UN has used the term "intergovernmental organization" instead of "international organization" for enhanced clarity. Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine, created in 1815, is the first and oldest intergovernmental organization established by the Congress of Vienna.
The role of international organizations includes assisting in international agenda, mediating political bargaining, providing a place for political initiatives and acting as catalysts for coalition- formation. International organizations also define the salient issues and decide which issues can be grouped together, thus help governmental priority determination or other governmental arrangements. Seeking economic, political, social cooperation and integration is primary for international organizations with some exceptions .
