The
FIFA World Cup has taken place
every four years, except in 1942 and 1946, when the competition was cancelled due to the world war-II. FIFA World Cup is a game of 90 minutes of regular play, if the score is a draw, an additional 30-minute period of play is given and it called extra time. If the is still tied after extra time it is decided by kicks from the penalty mark, commonly called a
penalty shootout. The winning penalty shoot-out team is then declared champion.
The 20 World Cup tournaments have been won by
eight national teams.
Brazil has won five times, and they are the only team to have played in every tournament. The other World Cup winners are Germany and Italy, with four titles each, Argentina and inaugural winner Uruguay, with two titles each and England, France and Spain, with one title each.The article
