Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd, made an announcement on August 12 last month that the commercial rollout of Jio GigaFibre or JioFiber will start from September 5, 2019. JioFiber has already received 1.5 crore registrations and the company looks to penetrate 2 crore residences and 1.5 crore business establishments across 1,600 towns in India. JIOFIBER Plans - Broadband: JioFiber Plans start from Rs 699 and go up till Rs 8,499 per month, and are divided into bronze, silver gold, platinum, and titatnium plans. The Jio Home Phone will be activated through GigaFiber, using JioGigaHub. Once the Jio Home Phone is activated, users will be assigned an eight-digit landline number.
JIOFIBER Plans - Set-Top box: JioFiber Plans, new set-top box from Reliance Jio will offer subscribers the unparalleled entertainment and gaming experience. The new set-top box will also be able to receive cable TV signals from local cable operators (LCOs). It will also be able to deliver console-like gaming using JioFiber service. "In recent years, competition from DTH operators have threatened the viability of nearly one lakh LCOs who still operate across India. As firm supporters of local and small businesses, Jio wanted to ensure that these LCOs continued to serve their communities." Jio set-top box will also support all the popular gaming controllers and has a built-in graphics card. It will support 4K display and offer a "zero-latency gaming experience" using Jio Fiber network. Jio Set-Top box will also support Mixed Reality services, including MR shopping, MR education and MR movie watching.

"The experience of JioFiber and Jio-Set-Top-Box really comes to life when combined with an LED TV. So, JioFiber customers who opt for our annual plans, which we call Jio-Forever plans, will get an HD or 4K LED TV and a 4K Set-Top-Box absolutely free. In essence, most of the metro cities, tier 2, and tier 3 cities are now being offered JioFiber services.
