- The Skill Test is conducted to test the speed of candidates in noting down dictations. Candidates must have knowledge of shorthand (use of abbreviations and symbols to quickly note down what is being spoken).
- Candidates will be given 10 minute dictations in English and Hindi to note down.
- The expected speed is 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C posts and 80 words per minute for Grade D posts.
