SSC Stenographer Computer Based Examination is an online exam which consists of 3 parts as described below and exam has a duration of 2 hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for the candidates who are allowed use of scribe) for each part and Maximum Marks: 100.

  • The Skill Test is conducted to test the speed of candidates in noting down dictations. Candidates must have knowledge of shorthand (use of abbreviations and symbols to quickly note down what is being spoken).

  • Candidates will be given 10 minute dictations in English and Hindi to note down.

  • The expected speed is 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C posts and 80 words per minute for Grade D posts.
