This chapter provides a Quick Guide and a Detailed Guide (with elaborate instructions) for filling Online Application for SSC CGL 2019.
Candidate should have the following documents ready before applying for SSC CGL.
  • Scan the photograph and signature.

  • Put the necessary details ready before going for online registration.

  • Make the credit card/debit cards available for the payment of online fee.

  • Signature won’t be accepted in capital letters.

  • Aspirants should have a valid email ID and phone number in case of emergency.
  • First of all log on to the Official Website

  • Register as a new user at the website which can be created by using a valid email ID and phone number. You will get OTP of the required ID you want to generate for SSC portal.

  • You can pay the application online or through a Challan which will be generated after you have filled in the required application of SSC CGL 2019 Exam.

  • You need to have the scanned copies of the recent passport size photograph, signature, and thumb impression to fill the application.

  • After registration click on the Apply button to get the application submitted to the portal.

  • After you click on Apply button you will get the application form, fill it online.

  • Then click on the Submit button after cross-checking the details or else you will not be able to make any changes afterward.

  • Download the duly filled-in application form.

  • Take print out for future references.

    1. Candidates must apply online through the Official website.
    2. Candidates should read the instructions given in the Notice of Examination carefully before filling up the online one-time 'Registration Form'/ Application Form.
    3. After reading the instructions, candidates should move to the Registration Part and fill up the online Registration Form.
    4. In the Registration Part, candidates will have to fill in basic information relating to them like name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, date of birth, category, permanent address, etc. On submission of details, candidates will be prompted to check the details and make corrections, if any, before submitting the Form.
    5. Candidate should provide all the required details while filling up the Online Registration/ Application Forms. Mandatory fields are marked with * (asterisk) sign.
    6. On submission of the Registration Form, Registration ID and password will be provided. Note down the Registration ID and password and keep them safely. This would be your permanent Registration ID & Password which would be required to apply for this examination as well as any other Recruitment Examination of the Commission.
    7. After submission of the Registration Form, candidate should upload his/ her latest colour photograph and signature. The photograph and signature must be uploaded in jpg format. The digital size of the photograph must be more than 4 KB and less than 20 KB. The digital size of the signature must be more than 1 KB and less than 12 KB. Photo and signature must be clearly visible and photo must be identifiable also. Applications with blurred photo/ signatures will be summarily rejected.
    8. The Registration becomes complete only after the photograph and signature are uploaded by the candidate.
    9. After completion of the Registration Part, the candidates should proceed to fill up the Online Application Form.
    10. Candidates already registered can omit instructions given from S No-3 to 9 above and can directly login to the system using their "Registration ID" and "Password" and proceed to fill up the Application Form.
    11. In case, there is any discrepancy in ‘One time registration’ data filled by the candidate, photograph/ signature, etc., ‘One time Registration’ data may be suitably edited before proceeding to fill the online application form. The commission allows editing of information like name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender and matriculation roll number only once after Registration. Therefore, these fields MUST BE ENTERED/ EDITED VERY CAREFULLY. Other fields in the ‘One Time Registration’ can be edited once before every examination but prior to submission of Application for the Examination. SUCH EDITING IS ALLOWED BEFORE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION. ONCE THE APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED, NO CHANGE IN ‘One Time Registration’ and Application data will be allowed.
    12. Except for the post of Junior Statistical Officer, essential educational qualification for all other posts is Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute. Therefore candidature of all candidates will be considered for all posts except JSO. If you have requisite EQ and you wish to apply for this post, you need to state so at S No-13 and 14 in the online application form failing which you will not be considered for this post.
    13. Candidates should read the instructions in the Notice carefully before filling up the Online Application Form. They must satisfy themselves that they are eligible to apply for the posts.
    14. Candidate should thoroughly check all the entries filled in the online application form, before final submission. In case of any discrepancy, relevant entry may be corrected/ edited. After final submission of the online application, no change in any particular shall be allowed.
    15. After filling online application, the candidates are required to make fee payment (Candidates who are exempted from fee payment are not required to pay a fee). Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa/ Mastercard/ Maestro Credit/ Debit card. The facility of submission of online application (including payment of fees through online method) will be available from 22-10-2019 to 27-11-2019 (17:00). However, candidates who wish to make the payment through challan of SBI may make the payment to designated branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to 29-11-2019 provided the challan has been generated by them before 5.00 PM of 27-11-2019.
    16. On successful fee payment, your application will be complete and will be accepted provisionally. You may take printout of this application for your own record but you are not required to submit this printout to the Commission.
Application Fee Details All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee, as per extant government orders.
The candidates who are not exempted from paying examination fee may submit the application fee through State Bank of India only either in the form of challan, generated on line, or through SBI Net Banking. Payment can also be made through any Credit or Debit Card.

Payment: ✦ The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets by providing information as asked on the screen.
✦ On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form will be generated; which may be printed for record. The printout of the application form is not to be sent to the Bank.
✦ If the online transaction is not successfully completed, please register again and make payment online.
✦ There is also a provision to reprint the e-Receipt and Application form containing fee details, at the later stage.

1. How to Register Online for SSC CGL 2019 examination? The Application for SSC CGL 2019 can only be submitted online. The online application form can be submitted in 3 steps – Registration, Online application and Payment of Fees.
  • Online application of forms is available between 22-10-2019 to 25-11-2019 (5.00PM).
  • A Candidate is allowed to submit only one online application.

2. How to fill SSC CGL 2019 Application Step by step guide?
  1. Visit the Official website of SSC CGL 2019
  2. Register on the website with all your details
  3. Fill the Form with details like Name, Fathers name, 10th Board exam results, Date of Birth, Gender, and other details
  4. Proceed to next form with details of your Mothers name, verification mark (marks on your body), category, etc. Fill the form as instructed and click the submit button.
  5. Check all your details before you hit the “Submit” button. Once you hit the submit button, it cant be undone or reversed. All you details will be taken as final. Therefore, submit the form only after checking all the personal details you have entered.
  6. After clicking on the submit button, you will get a provisional registration number and password. Save it carefully and it will be needed during all future correspondence of SSC online examinations for SSC CGL.
  7. You also need to keep a photograph and signature in Jpeg format. A photograph and signature will be required while filling online Application form for SSC CGL.

  8. Documents Required:
    • 10th Marksheet and Certificate
    • Disability certificate for Persons with Disability
    • Email ID and Mobile Number that will remain active for the next 1-2 years
    • Photograph and signature in Jpeg format
    • AADHAR number
    • Debit card/ Credit Card/ Internet banking for Online payment
    Photo size: The digital size of the photograph must be more than 4 KB and less than 20 KB. Signature Size: The digital size of the signature must be more than 1 KB and less than 12 KB.

3. Why is the application accepted only ‘Provisionally’? All applications are “provisionally accepted” when you register. This is because during the online application procedure you do not submit the necessary documents they require. Once you qualify the examination, document verification takes place. If all required documents are valid, you will be formally accepted.
4. Can diploma holders apply for SSC CGL examinations? No, only Bachelor’s degree holders can apply for SSC CGL examinations.
5. Why are we asked to fill three different centers for examination? A candidate is asked to fill three different centers for examination so that if one of the centers gets filled then you can be sent to another center, which would be of your preference.
6. Can a candidate apply for more than one post? Yes, you can apply for more than one post. You only have to make sure you complete the eligibility criteria for all the posts you apply to.
7. Can i apply for SSC CGL if i haven’t my graduation? You can only apply for SSC CGL examinations if you complete your graduation by 1st August 2018.
