Short listing of Candidates for the Document Verification shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in 2nd Stage CBT. The normalization scheme to be adopted for short listing the candidates from 1st Stage CBT to 2nd Stage CBT and for DV on the basis of performance in 2nd Stage CBT is detailed below:
      1. Normalisation of Marks 2. Calcualtion of Normalised Marks for Multi-Session Papers 3. Calculation of Merit Index for All Papers
The Merit Index will be calculated for UR, OBC, SC, ST candidates whose actual marks for single session exam and normalized marks for multi session exam are equal or above the community qualifying marks prescribed in "Second Stage of CBT". Based on the Merit Index generated, a combined merit list of the candidates of different disciplines/ Exam Group will be prepared in the descending order of merit and the allotment of the preference will be done on the basis of this merit list.
Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for DV based on their merit in 2nd Stage CBT and options. In addition, extra candidates will also be called over and above the number of vacancies to maintain standby list up to 50% of the vacancies notified. They will, however, be considered for empanelment only if there is a shortfall in empanelment from the merit list or/and as replacement against the shortfall on account of non-joining of recommended candidates in the working post or/and any other special requirements, if required by the indenting Railways. In case of two or more candidates securing same marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e., older person shall be placed at higher merit and in case age being same, then alphabetical order (a to z) of the name shall be taken into account to break the tie.
Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/ character of the candidates.
Candidates may please note that RRBs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered ONLY by the respective Railway Administrations.
