Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), invites applications for recruitment of IB ACIO Grade II/Executives for 1430 vacancies. The start date for the registration process of IB ACIO Recruitment 2017-18 is August 12, 2017 and the last date to apply is September 10, 2017. The IB ACIO Selection Process is primarily a 3 step process with the verification process and medical examination in the end.
The IB ACIO Grade II Executive Selection Process 2017-18 is primarily divided into different phases: Tier 1, Tier 2, & Interview followed by Character & Antecedent Verification and Medical Examination as shown below.

IB ACIO Selection Process - 3 Phases of Selection

• Tier-I: Tier I, is a written exam (objective type) with 4 sections, total of 100 questions, maximum marks of 100 and a time duration of 1 hour.


• Tier-II: Tier II is a descriptive test with essay writing ( 1 topic – 30 marks), english comprehension and précis writing (20 marks), a total of 50 marks and a duration of 1 hour.


• Interview: On the basis of the combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, the candidates would be short listed for the interview which is for 100 marks.


• Verification & Medical Examination: Based on the combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Interview, the candidates would be short listed for final selection, subject to successful completion of their Character and Antecedent verification followed by Medical examination.

Tier - I is a written exam (objective type) with 4 section and a time duration of 1 hour as shown in table below. There is a negative marking of ¼ marks for each wrong answer and no marks would be awarded for unattended questions. There will be a minimum cut off marks of 33%, and those who will clear the Tier I exam will be called for TIER II exam.

Tier - II is a descriptive test with essay writing ( 1 topic – 30 marks), English comprehension and precis writing (20 marks), a total of 50 marks and a duration of 1 hour. Tier II primarily tests the candidate's English writing skills and analytical capability. The minimum Cut-off for the IB ACIO Tier II Exam is 33% marks to be eligible for the Interview.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Interview based on the Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam performances. The Interview holds 100 marks. The date, time and center of the interview would be intimated to the successful candidates through the application portal as well as email ID provided at the time of online registration.
Those candidates, who are yet to get their degree, if called for interview, would be required to submit a proof of passing the degree examination on or before the closing date. i.e. September 10, 2017. The candidates would be short listed for final selection subject to successful completion of their Character and Antecedent verification followed by Medical Examination.
