The IBPS (Institute of banking personnel selection) and SBI (State bank of India) are two different institutions but the operating activities and objectives of both of them are very similar.
While department conducts IBPS PO Examination every year for a number of PSU banks (ibps po exam participating banks) as a single unit; SBI has recently started to conduct online examination just past a year. The role of PO (Assistant Manager/officer scale 1 in IBPS and Jr. Management grade-1 officer in SBI) is very responsible and crucial kind of thing in banks.   • But don’t take exertion. You will not be given the targets as soon as you join the job. You will be just asked to make aware the customers about the bank’s new plans and gradually with the time being, they will set targets for you. Till that time, you will become habitual with your work.

  • Cashier Role – As a PO, you will have to collect cash from the cashier and cash disbursal activities which are in itself a very responsible activity. You need to take care of the proper availability of cash at the ATM’s which is connected with your banks. Moreover, you need to take care of every single payment and collection which you will do via cheque, demand draft NEFT/RTGS.

  • Reporting Reports – You need to carry out reporting activities to for each and every transaction conducted in your bank so that to avoid big mistakes or fraud at later stages. This is just like when you are in school days your teacher maintains your attendance records and your curricular plus day to day activities to track your performance. So, you will be required to do this at every end of the day. Also, you may have to perform scrutiny check over the work of the clerks to maintain the quality of reports. You also have to close the work before leaving at the end.

IBPS Reasoning paper is not so tough as compare to SBI paper. IBPS Quantitative Aptitude test is mainly based on Arithmetic but for SBI it will be mostly based on Data Analysis & Interpretation with emphasis on Analysis and Interpretation of data (Tables, charts, Graphs, Reports etc.), using applications of the Arithmetical principles of Averages, Ratios, Proportions, Percentages etc.

SBI has Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 01-hour duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). and IBPS has no descriptive test. IBPS PO Preliminary Exam and SBI PO Preliminary Exam has the same pattern with a time duration of 01 hours.
SBI PO exam is divided into 3 tiers-pre, mains, and interview. The mains is again divided into 2 categories- objective and subjective.

  • SBI – Work Pressure & Environment
    State Bank Of India (SBI) is one of the biggest and most seasoned organization banks of India. Its branches are available all over India and it has various ATM counters all over the place.   • IBPS PO – Work Pressure and Environment
