OICL AO Career Progression: After selection, candidates have to go through a probation of 1 year which can be extended. Before joining as a probationer, Administrative Officers are made to sign a bond to serve the company for minimum of 4 years. If a candidate resigns before the expiry date of the bond period, he/she will be liable to pay liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s gross salary paid to them during probation.
Candidates selected can be posted or transferred anywhere in India by the company. The candidates have to stay for a minimum of 5 years at the initial place of posting.
Promotions
Promotions of OICL Administrative Officers happens every 3 to 5 years. They have a chance of getting promoted to Deputy Manager and Zonal Manager positions.
- Promotions are generally seniority based and first promotion takes not less than 5 years.
- Through fast track channel, AOs are eligible for promotion after 3 years.
- Promotions are generally slow compared with banks.
- However, there is no sabbatical leave i.e., if you have plans to study and want to take unpaid leaves, it is not allowed.
- You need to resign from the Oriental India Insurance Limited if you take admission in a college and also need to pay the bond if your probation is not complete.
