1. What are the qualifying marks for JEE Main? The qualifying marks for JEE Main is subjective owing to a variety of factors pivotal in its calculation and normalization. The cutoff for general category students is generally tipped to be between 80-89. It is ideal to score above this mark or rank under 15,000 to be on the safer side and increase possibilities of admission to a top institute of the country.
2. What are the types of JEE Main Cutoff? JEE Main Cutoff is of two types - admission and qualifying. The qualifying cutoff for JEE Main is the minimum marks needed to be eligible for contesting in the next round of the JEE Advanced Exam. The admission cutoff is the one released by NTA as the JoSAA which indicates the candidature of individual aspirants for their admission possibilities in IITs.
3. I have cleared the 2020 exam of JEE Main. Can I contest in JEE Advanced Exam or is there a specific cutoff for this? Aspirants who have secured a rank below the mark of 2,24,000 will be eligible to take the next round of JEE Advanced Exam after the declaration of JEE Main 2020 Result. There is no specific quota or reservation system for candidates from countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, or Bhutan. These students fall under the foreign category and should only fill up the application form for JEE Main 2020 accordingly.
6. My parents were of Indian origin and now all of us are passport holders of foreign countries, but I have studied from class 2 in India. Will I be eligible to apply for JEE Main 2020? Which category will I fall under? In case your parent's with-hold certificates of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), only then will you be eligible to contest in the JEE Main Exam. In other scenarios, you will have to apply as a candidate under the foreign category.
7. When will the cutoff of JEE Main 2020 be available? The qualifying cutoff of JEE Main 2020, which consists of the minimum marks to be secured for JEE Advanced, will be released along with the result. However, the admission cutoff will be released as minimum ranks for higher chances of allotment when JoSAA is being conducted. After every round of allotment, the admission cutoff will be declared.

The qualifying cutoff is prepared for screening of candidates for JEE Advanced.
