    (A) East (B) West (C) North (D) South

Answer: Option C
Explanation:

2. Y is in the East of X which is in the North of Z. If P is in the South of Z, then in which direction of Y, is P?
    (A) North (B) South (C) South-East (D) None of these

Answer: Option D
Explanation:
1. _ xx _ yx _ yy _ xy _ xxy
    (A) xxxyy (B) yxyxy (C) yyxxy (D) yyyxx

Answer: Option C
Explanation:The series is yxxy/yxxy/yxxy/yxxy. Thus, the pattern 'yxxy' is repeated.
2. WXCD, UVEF, STGH, QRIJ, ?
    (A) OPKL (B) AYBZ (C) JIRQ (D) LRMS

Answer: Option A
Explanation:Start reading from CD, EF, GH, IJ, KL and then QR, ST, UV, WX, YZ and so on after splitting the groups.
1. A tailor had a number of shirt pieces to cut from a roll of fabric. He cut each roll of equal length into 10 pieces. He cut at the rate of 45 cuts a minute. How many rolls would be cut in 24 minutes?.
    (A) 30 rolls (B) 58 rolls (C) 120 rolls (D) 150 rolls

Answer: Option C
Explanation:Number of cuts made to cut a roll into 10 pieces = 9. Therefore Required number of rolls = 45 × 24 / 9 = 120.
2. A monkey climbs 30 feet at the beginning of each hour and rests for a while when he slips back 20 feet before he again starts climbing in the beginning of the next hour. If he begins his ascent at 8.00 a.m., at what will he first touch a flag at 120 feet from the ground?
    (A) 4 p.m (B) 5 p.m. (C) 6 p.m. (D) 8 p.m.

Answer: Option C
Explanation:Let ascent of the monkey in 1 hour = ( 30 – 20 ) = 10 feet. So, the monkey ascends 90 feet in 9 hours i.e., 5 p.m. Clearly, in the next 1 hour i.e., till 6 p.m.
1. 4, 6, 9, 13,
    (A) 15 (B) 12 (C) 18 (D) 17

Answer: Option C
Explanation:The difference between two consecutive numbers is increasing in the order of 2,3, 4, 5, etc.
2. 8, 20, 36, 56,
    (A) 80 (B) 100 (C) 64 (D) 84

Answer: Option A
Explanation:Every member of the series is,divisible by 4 and quotient is in the order of 2, 5, 9, 14, 20, i.e., it has an increasing trend with the difference of 3, 4, 5 and 6
1. Find the number of triangles in the given figure
    (A) 28 (B) 32 (C) 36 (D) 40

Answer: Option C
Explanation:The simplest triangles are AML, LRK, KWD, DWJ, JXI, IYC, CYH, HTG, GOB, BOF, FNE and EMA i.e. 12 in number. The triangles composed of two components each are AEL, KDJ, HIC and FBG i.e. 4 in number. The triangles composed of three components each are APF, EQB, BQH, GVC, CVJ, IUD, DUL and KPA i.e. 8 in number. The triangles composed of six components each are ASB, BSG, CSD, DSA, AKF, EBH, GGJ and IDL i.e. 8 in number. The triangles composed of twelve components each are ADB, ABC, BCD and CDA i.e. 4 in number. Total number of triangles in the figure = 12 + 4 + 8 + 8 + 4 = 36.
2. Count the number of cubes in the given figure.
    (A) 130 (B) 132 (C) 138 (D) 140

Answer: Option D
Explanation:In the figure, there are 5 columns containing 4 cubes each 33 columns containing 3 cubes each; 9 columns containing 2 cubes each and 3 columns containing 1 cube each. ∴ Total Number of cubes = ( 5 x 4) + (33 x 3) + (9 x 2) + (3 x 1) = 20 + 99 + 18 + 3 = 140
1. If TOUR is written as 1234, CLEAR is written as 56784 and SPARE is written as 90847, find the code for CARE
    (A) 1247 (B) 4847 (C) 5247 (D) 5847

Answer: Option D
Explanation:R is in every group of letter and 4 is in every group of numbers so R = 4 C L E A R = 5 6 7 8 4 , S P A R E = 9 0 8 4 7 Here 847 are common So CL = 56 and SP = 90 Thus C A R E = 8 4 7
2. CALANDER is coded in a code as CLANAEDR. Find the code for CIRCULAR under the same rule.
    (A) LACANDER (B) CRIUCALR (C) CLANADER (D) None of these

Answer: Option B
Explanation:C AL AN DE R = C IR CU LA R C LA NA ED R = C RI UC AL R Here first and last letters are not dispositioned but other pairs are being reversed
1. A, P, R, X, S and Z are sitting in a row. S and Z are in the centre. A and P are at the ends. R is sitting to the left of A. Who is to the right of P ?
    (A) A (B) X (C) S (D) S

Answer: Option B
2. A, B, C, D and E are sitting on a bench. A is sitting next to B, C is sitting next to D, D is not sitting with E who is on the left end of the bench. C is on the second position from the right. A is to the right of B and E. A and C are sitting together. In which position A is sitting ?
    (A) Between B and D (B) Between B and C (C) Between E and D (D) Between C and E

Answer: Option B
1. In a file contains the line "I am a boy\r\n" then on reading this line into the array str using fgets(). What will str contain?
    (A) "I am a boy\r\n\0" (B) "I am a boy\r\0" (C) "I am a boy\n\0" (D) "I am a boy"

Answer: Option C
Explanation:char *fgets(char *s, int n, FILE *stream);fgets reads characters from stream into the string s. It stops when it reads either n - 1 characters or a newline character, whichever comes first. Therefore, the string str contain "I am a boy\n\0"
2. What is the purpose of "rb" in fopen() function used below in the code?
    (A) open "source.txt" in binary mode for reading (B) open "source.txt" in binary mode for reading and writing (C) Create a new file "source.txt" for reading and writing (D) None of above

Answer: Option A
Explanation:The file source.txt will be opened in the binary mode.
