Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government appointed senior IPS officer Vivek Johri as the new Director General of Police (DGP) and transferred the incumbent VK Singh to the sports and youth welfare department as its director, official sources said.

The country's foreign exchange reserves swelled by $5.42 billion to a lifetime high of $481.54 billion in the week to February 14, on the back of rise in foreign currency assets, according to the latest data from the RBI. In the previous week, the foreign exchange reserves had increased by $29 million to $476.12 billion.
Foreign currency assets, a major component of the overall reserves, rose by $4.36 billion to $445.82 billion in the reporting week.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) put restrictions on Yes Bank shares in various segments, including futures and options. In a rare move, capital-starved Yes Bank was on March 5 placed under a moratorium, with the RBI capping deposit withdrawals at Rs 50,000 per account for a month and superseding its board.
The categories placed under restriction include debt, securities lending and borrowing scheme, currency derivatives, commodity derivatives, futures and options, as per notification by NSE.
