• The judge found there had been widespread irregularities in the 21 May vote.

• Kiev accused Tehran of knowing from the start that an Iranian missile had downed a Ukrainian airliner last month, after leaked recordings emerged from Iranian air traffic control.


• The recordings, aired on Ukraine’s 1+1 TV channel, feature a conversation between an air traffic controller and the pilot of another plane at the time the Ukrainian airliner was hit on January 8, killing all 176 people on board.

• The Kerala government has declared the lethal disease caused by the Novel Coronavirus as a "state calamity" after three people from the southern state tested positive for the virus, which originated from China's populated Wuhan city.


• "The announcement is not meant to scare people. It is to help take proactive steps to intensify the steps to contain the spread of the virus," state Health Minister KK Shailaja said.

• Sanadhara Gand, a daily wage labourer from Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, was shocked when he received a notice from the Income Tax (I-T) Department for carrying out bank transactions of Rs 1.47 crore.


• The I-T Department has sent a notice to Sanadhara Gand, a resident of Purjaribharandi village, asking him to pay Rs 2.59 lakh tax towards bank transactions of Rs 1.47 crore.

• The Goa legislative assembly adopted a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for having passed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) after a walkout by Opposition claiming that the government was using its “brute” majority to pass the resolution. <


• In the 40-member assembly, the ruling BJP has 27 MLAs, besides two Independent legislators who support the government. NCP’s Churchil Alemao, who supports the government, was absent.

• The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on Monday drew attention to a worrying shortage of essential gear, clothing and rations being faced by soldiers deployed in high altitude areas like Siachen and Ladakh.


• In a report tabled in Parliament, the CAG said there were delays of up to four years in the procurement of high altitude clothing and equipment items leading to an acute shortage.

• Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the answer key for Assistant Main re exam conducted under recruitment 08/2018. The exam was conducted on February 1.


• Candidates can download the answer key online at bpsc.bih.nic.in.


• Candidates will have to download separate PDF files for the answer keys of General Hindi and General Knowledge papers.

• The Council of Architecture has started the online application process for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2020. Candidates can apply online at nata.in. The online application process began on February 1 and the last date to apply is March 16, 2020.


• The NATA 2020 first exam will be held on April 19 and the second exam on May 31, 2020. The results for the first exam will be declared on May 8 while for the second exam the results will be declared on June 14, 2020.

• Banks credit and deposits grew 7.21 per cent and 9.51 per cent to Rs 100.05 lakh crore and Rs 131.26 lakh crore, respectively, in the fortnight ended January 17, according to the latest Reserve Bank data.


• In the year-ago fortnight, banks advance stood at Rs 93.32 lakh crore while deposits at Rs 119.85 lakh crore.

• Mayank Agarwal has been named Rohit Sharma's replacement for the ODI series in New Zealand after the latter was ruled out of both the ODIs and Tests due to a "left calf muscle strain" that he sustained during the final T20I in Mount Maunganui, the BCCI said in a media statement.


• Prithvi Shaw made a return to the India Test squad and after impressing for India A vs New Zealand A, Shubman Gill too was included in the team for the two-match series beginning from February 21.

• The committee comprises Madan Lal, Rudra Pratap Singh and Sulakshana Naik and the term of appointment is 1 year.

• Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi, 65 years old, was appointed as the Iraq’s new Prime Minister (PM) by its President Barhim Salih.


• He was the successor of Adil Abdul-Mahdi who resigned in November 2019 due to anti-government protests.
