• The Centre told the Supreme Court they have accepted the recommendations of a special investigation team (SIT), headed by retired Delhi High Court judge Justice SN Dhingra which has probed 186 cases of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, and they will take appropriate action as per the laws.


• A bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde was informed by senior advocate RS Suri, appearing for the petitioner, that the report of the SIT is damning for police officials and they would file an application seeking action against the cops who were allegedly involved in the ghastly crime.

• Punjab school education board has released the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2018 admit card today, January 15, 2020. Candidates who have registered for the examination can download their admit card online at pstet.net.


• PSTET 2018 exam is scheduled to be conducted on January 19, 2020, at various examination centers spread across the state. Candidates are advised to bring a copy of their to admit card to their allotted examination center or else they won’t be entertained.

• National Board of Examination has declared the NEET MDS entrance examination result today, January 15, 2020. Candidates who have registered for the examination can check their results online at natboard.edu.in.


• The board has also released the NEET MDS 2020 cut off scores for various categories. For candidates belonging to the general and EWS category, the cutoff score is 286 out of 960, for SC/ST/OBC (including PwD of SC/ST/OBC) category is 250 and finally, for PwD candidates (general) category, the cutoff score is 268.

• Yes Bank needs to raise capital quickly to support its credit growth and stay compliant as per regulatory norms.


• The bank’s asset quality has deteriorated sharply and it reported slippages in excess of Rs 12,000 crore.

• The four astronauts shortlisted for the Gaganyaan project, India's first manned space mission, will receive training in Russia for 11 months, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said.


• Mr. Singh, who is the Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space, said in a statement that their training in Russia will start from the third week of January.
