NTA will conduct the CMAT Selection Process after the announcement of the CMAT exam result. The candidates who qualify the CMAT 2019 exam and meet the cutoff criterion set by respective participating institutes will be qualified for the CMAT Selection Procedure. CMAT 2019 result would be declared on/ by 8th February, 2019.
Selection
The participating institutes of CMAT-2019 are the institutions which will be accepting the CMAT Score. Candidates must apply separately to the desired CMAT-2019 participating institutes with the CMAT Score 2019. Then, each participating institute will release their respective cut – off CMAT Score which candidates should meet to get qualified for admission to that particular institute.
Once qualified, the candidates will have to appear for selection procedure of that particular institute which may comprise of:
1. Group Discussion (GD) and
2. Personal Interview (PI)
The final selection of the candidates will be on the basis of the candidates performance based on above.
Groups are formed of 7-10 candidates. Each group is given a topic; all topics are diverse in nature and include current affairs in the field of politics, economics, sports or socially relevant subjects.
Applicants are judged on their personal skills including – communication, leadership, negotiation, managerial and leadership skills.
A panel of 3-4 senior individuals interview the candidates individually. This round is conducted essentially to understand the candidates’ attitude, interest level and their future aspirations.
Panel checks the communication skills and past academic performance of the candidate and his/her fitment into the institute.
The shortlisting by the B-schools in CMAT 2019 selection procedure is done as per its individual admission policy. The decision on minimum section-wise and overall cut off in CMAT entrance exam at the time of shortlisting will be taken by the respective B-school.
Note:
If the candidate does not score minimum prescribed percentile in CMAT 2019 entrance exam, he/she may not be considered for shortlisting for the final selection stage.
