CMAT Eligibility

Prospective individuals for CMAT Managment Programs, should check the eligibility criterion, before applying for the course through the online application form. To apply for CMAT Managemen Programs 2019, the candidates must be eligible as per the educational qualifications, age limit and nationality.

Candidates applying for CMAT 2019 should carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling the application form.
The eligibility for CMAT varies as per the nationality, age, educational and program are chosen by a candidate. All details have been given below:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2019-20 can also apply for CMAT-2019 computer based test (CBT).
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
For admission to a participating institute, please see the reservations applicable in that particular institute. In case of institutes run by Central Government, 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the “ Non Creamy layer” (OBC-NCL).Each category will have 5% reservations for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as defined in The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016).
Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC–NCL) are as per the Central list of Other Backward Classes available on National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India website www.ncbc.nic.in Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column. State list OBC Candidates who are not in OBC-NCL (Central List) must choose General.
Persons with disabilities (PwD) means a person with not less than forty percent (40%) of a specified disability where specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with a disability where specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority. “Specified Disability” means the disabilities as specified in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.
    The categories of disabilities are: (i) Blindness and low vision (ii) Deaf and hard of hearing (iii) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy (iv) Autism, intellectual disability, specified learning disability and mental illness, and (v) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (i) to (iv) (vi) Other ‘specified disabilities’ mentioned in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.

In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arm affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the facility of scribe/ reader/ lab assistant shall be given, if so desired by the person. The candidates who require scribe/ reader as per above will have to submit the request in writing to the Centre Superintendent for the same along with disability certificate issued by the authorized Medical Officer at least one week before the examination date. The Centre Superintendent will identify the scribe/ reader from the students who are studying one class lower. In case a request is received from the candidate, he/ she would be allowed to meet the scribe a day before the examination to verify the suitability of the scribe. One hour compensatory time will also be allowed to the candidates who are availing the facility of scribe/ reader.
