TS Police Constable Eligibility - Civil or Equivalent:

TS Police Constable Eligibility - IT & C/ Mechanic/ Driver:
Name of the Post Age Limit Education Qualification
Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (IT & Communication (Men and Women) in Police Department, Mechanic (Men) in Police Transport Organisation) 18-25 years Must possess pass in SSC or any other examination recognized by the State Government as being equivalent to SSC and must possess Industrial Training Institutional Certificate in Electronic, Mechanic OR Information Technology and Electronic System Maintenance.
Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) Police Constable Mechanic (Men) in Police Transport Organisation 18-25 years Must possess pass in SSC or any other examination recognised by the State Government as being equivalent to SSC and must possess an Industrial Training Institutional Certificate in Wiremen OR Mechanic Motor vehicle OR Mechanic Diesel OR Fitter.
Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) Police Constable (Drivers) (Men) in Police Transport Organisation 21-28 years SSC or any other examination recognised by the State Government as being equivalent to SSC and must possess an Industrial Training Institutional Certificate in Auto Electrician OR Mechanic Motor vehicle OR Mechanic Diesel OR Fitter.

SCT PC Civil or Equivalent:
  • Candidate must hold, as on 1st July, 2018, a pass Certificate in Intermediate or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government.

  • In the case of a Candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, as on 1st July, 2018, he/she must have passed SSC or its equivalent examination recognised by the State Government and should have studied Intermediate and appeared for the Intermediate Examination in, both 1st year and 2nd year.

SCT PC IT & C / Mechanic / Driver:
i. For Post Code No.34: Must possess pass in SSC or any other examination recognized by the State Government as being equivalent to SSC and must possess Industrial Training Institutional Certificate in Electronic, Mechanic OR Information Technology and Electronic System Maintenance OR Computer Operator and Programming Assistant OR Mechanic Consumer Electronics OR Electrician OR Vocational Intermediate in a) EET (Electronic Engineering Technician) b) ET (Electrical Technician) (old name Electrical Wiring and Servicing of Electrical applications (E.W & SEA) after SSC) as on 1st July, 2018.
ii. For Post Code No.35: Must possess pass in SSC or any other examination recognised by the State Government as being equivalent to SSC and must possess an Industrial Training Institutional Certificate in Wiremen OR Mechanic Motor vehicle OR Mechanic Diesel OR Fitter as on 1st July, 2018.
iii. For Post Code No.36:
  • Academic Qualification: Must possess pass in Intermediate examination or any other examination recognised as its equivalent by the State Board of Intermediate Education; (or) SSC or any other examination recognised by the State Government as being equivalent to SSC and must possess an Industrial Training Institutional Certificate in Auto Electrician OR Mechanic Motor vehicle OR Mechanic Diesel OR Fitter as on 1st July, 2018.

  • Technical Qualification: Must have possessed either Light Motor Vehicle (Transport with Badge Number) or HMV License, or both put together, continuously for a period of full two years and above as on date of notification Candidate should furnish the Driving Licence information (Grant of issue of Driving Licence), issued by the Licensing Authority of the RTA concerned along with the Application Form.
SCT PC Civil or Equivalent:
i. For the Post Code Nos. 21 to 25:
  • Must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 22 years as on 1st July, 2018 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1996 and not later than 1st July, 2000. However, the Government of Telangana vide GO Ms No. 62, Home (Legal) Department dated 06-06-2018 have raised the upper age limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board to various Posts in Police Department, Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Prisons & Correctional Services Department and Special Protection Force by 3 (three) years. This relaxation is in addition to the upper age limit as mentioned above.

  • For Home Guards, a Person who, as on the date of Notification, has been on duty as Home Guard for a minimum duration of 360 days within a period of 2 (two) years and who is still continuing his service as Home Guard, must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 40 years as on 1st July, 2018 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1978 and not later than 1st July, 2000. However, the Government of Telangana vide GO Ms No. 62, Home (Legal) Department dated 06-06-2018 have raised the upper age limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board to various Posts in Police Department, Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Prisons & Correctional Services Department and Special Protection Force by 3 (three) years. This relaxation is in addition to the upper age limit as mentioned above.

ii. For the Post Code Nos. 26, 27 & 28: Must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on 1st July, 2018 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1988 and not later than 1st July, 2000. However, the Government of Telangana vide GO Ms No. 62, Home (Legal) Department dated 06-06-2018 have raised the upper age limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board to various Posts in Police Department, Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Prisons & Correctional Services Department and Special Protection Force by 3 (three) years. This relaxation is in addition to the upper age limit as mentioned above.
iii. For the Post Code Nos. 21, 22 & 28 (For Women Candidates): In the case of a Widow, a Divorced Woman or a Woman judicially separated from her husband and who is not remarried,
  • Candidate if she is an SC or ST, must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 40 years as on 1st July, 2018 i.e., she must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1978 and not later than 1st July, 2000. However, the Government of Telangana vide GO Ms No. 62, Home (Legal) Department dated 06-06-2018 have raised the upper age limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board to various Posts in Police Department, Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Prisons & Correctional Services Department and Special Protection Force by 3 (three) years. This relaxation is in addition to the upper age limit as mentioned above.

  • In all other cases other than SC & ST, the Candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years as on 1st July, 2018 i.e., she must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1983 and not later than 1st July, 2000. However, the Government of Telangana vide GO Ms No. 62, Home (Legal) Department dated 06-06-2018 have raised the upper age limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board to various Posts in Police Department, Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Prisons & Correctional Services Department and Special Protection Force by 3 (three) years. This relaxation is in addition to the upper age limit as mentioned above.


Relaxations in Upper Age Limit: The upper age limit prescribed in para 17 (B) (i) and (ii) above will be relaxable as mentioned here under:
  • Up to a maximum of 5 (five) years if a Candidate belongs to a Backward Class or a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.

  • Length of regular service limited up to a maximum of 5 (five) years if a Candidate is an employee of Telangana State Government. (Employees of TSTRANSCO, DISCOMs, TSGENCO, State Road Transport Corporation and other Telangana State Corporations, Municipalities, Local Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings etc., are not entitled for age relaxation). Service Certificate has to be submitted by eligible Candidates claiming age relaxation.

  • 3 (three) years in addition to the length of service rendered in the Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union for the Candidates who served in the Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union.

  • 3 (three) years in addition to the length of service rendered as a whole time Cadet Corps Instructor in NCC provided the Candidate has rendered a minimum service of 6 months as a whole time Cadet Corps Instructor in NCC.

  • Up to a maximum of 3 (three) years if a Candidate is a retrenched temporary employee in the State Census Department with a minimum service of 6 months during 1991.

SCT PC IT & C / Mechanic / Driver:
i. For Post Code 34 and 35: Must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 22 years as on 1st July, 2018 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1996 and not later than 1st July, 2000. However, the Government of Telangana vide GO Ms No. 62, Home (Legal) Department dated 06-06-2018 have raised the upper age limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board to various Posts in Police Department, Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Prisons & Correctional Services Department and Special Protection Force by 3 (three) years. This relaxation is in addition to the upper age limit as mentioned above.
ii. For Post Code 36: Must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years as on 1st July, 2018 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1993 and not later than 1st July, 1997. However, the Government of Telangana vide GO Ms No. 62, Home (Legal) Department dated 06-06-2018 have raised the upper age limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment by Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board to various Posts in Police Department, Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Prisons & Correctional Services Department and Special Protection Force by 3 (three) years. This relaxation is in addition to the upper age limit as mentioned above.
iii. For Home Guards: a person, who as on the date of Notification has been on duty as Home Guard for a minimum duration of 360 days within a period of 2 (two) years and who is still continuing his service as Home Guard, must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 40 years as on 1st July, 2018. Relaxation in Upper Age Limit: The Upper Age Limit prescribed at S. No. 16(B) above will be relaxable as mentioned here under:-
1. Up to a maximum of 5 (five) years if a Candidate belongs to a Backward Class or a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
2. Length of regular service limited up to a maximum of 5 (five) years if a Candidate is an employee of Telangana State Government (Employees of TSTRANSCO, DisComs, TSGENCO, State Road Transport Corporation and other Telangana State Corporations, Municipalities, Local Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings etc. are not entitled for age relaxation). Service Certificate has to be submitted by eligible Candidates claiming age relaxation.
3. 3 (three) years in addition to the length of service rendered in the Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union for the Candidates who served in the Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union.
4. 3 (three) years in addition to the length of service rendered as a whole time Cadet Corps Instructor in NCC provided the Candidate has rendered a minimum service of 6 months as a whole time Cadet Corps Instructor in NCC.
5. Up to a maximum of 3 (three) years if a Candidate is a retrenched temporary employee in the State Census Department with a minimum service of 6 months during 1991.
6. For the Post Code No. 34 (Women): In the case of a Widow, a Divorced Woman or a Woman judicially separated from her husband, and who is not remarried.
  • the Candidate if she is an SC or ST, must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 40 years as on 1st July, 2018, i.e., she must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1978 and not later than 1st July, 2000.

  • In all cases other than SC & ST, the Candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years as on 1st July, 2018, i.e., she must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1983 and not later than 1st July, 2000.
i. Eye Sight: Visual Standards required for the above selection shall be as follows:

Near Vision 0/5 0/5

ii. Each eye must have a full field of vision.
iii. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eye or lids of either eye shall be deemed to be a disqualification.
iv. Candidate should possess sound health and be free from any bodily defect or infirmity which will render him unfit for the Posts notified.
v. Candidates who have the following ailments or defects will not be considered for recruitment to any Post specified in this rule.
  • Physically Handicapped

  • Knocking-Knees, Pigeon Chest, Flat Foot, Varicose Veins, Hammer Toes, Fractured Limbs, Decayed Teeth, Stammering, Hard of Hearing and Abnormal Psychological Behaviour.
  • Ex-Servicemen Certificate if already discharged from service, for claiming Age Relaxation/ Reservation.

  • Ex-Servicemen Certificate / Meritorious Sports Person Certificate/ NCC Certificate etc wherever applicable, for claiming reservation.

  • The rule of Special Representation (Reservation) i.e., BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen, provided in Rule 22 of Telangana State & Subordinate Service Rules, 1996, shall be applicable to all the Posts except in the case of 75% vacancies of Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables (Civil) in the Scheduled Areas Police Stations of Mahaboobnagar, Adilabad, Warangal and Khammam districts.

  • Persons serving in the Armed Forces of the Indian Union, who on Retirement from service, would come under the category of Ex-Servicemen, may be permitted to apply for re-employment one year before the completion of the specified terms of engagement and avail themselves of all concessions available to Ex-servicemen but shall not be permitted to leave the uniform until they complete the specified term of engagement in the Armed Forces of the Indian Union.

  • The minimum marks to be secured by the Candidates in order to qualify in the Preliminary and Final Written Test is 40% for OCs, 35% for BCs and 30% for SCs/ STs/ Ex-Servicemen.
