It consists of 3 structures: writing, reading and comprehension, and multiple-choice questions.

It was present in the public (debuted) in 1926 by the College board
It was originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test, Scholastic Assessment Test, and SAT 1: Reasoning Test, SAT Reasoning Test before it became SAT.

It was developed or administered by the College Board and Educational Testing Service
It was meant to test ones Writing, Critical Reading and Mathematics skills
It is used for Admission into Undergraduate programs of Universities or colleges.
The duration for the exam is 3 hours and 50 minutes without the essay part or 4 hours and 40 minutes with the essay part.
It is taken 4 times annually outside the USA and 7 times annually within USA

The fee for taking the exam is between US $52.50 to US $101.50 depending on the country.
The exam is intended for high school students with Fluency in the English Language assumed.
  • Starting off early like about six months to prepare for the exam will enable you to ease off and be more accustomed or familiarized with the exam structure or question flow.

  • For one to improve efficiency in consistency and efficiency, you have to create a study schedule or timetable which you ought to follow without procrastination or distractions.

  • Setting a smart goal and being realistic towards achieving it will enable you to remember the need why you are preparing for the exam and thus motivate you.

  • Be able to take note of the mistakes which might arise from careless errors, time pressure, content weakness etc. you made in the course of studying by trying to review through them and know how best to master the right answers.

A Day Preparatory Tips
  • A day to the exam; you need to rest very well and do no try studying at night because your brain needs to rest. Try to recreate yourself to ease off the pressure and stress acquired for the period you have been studying, also try locating the test centre.
