Q. Can I apply for both technician and group D posts in the same region?
1. The candidate can apply for both the posts (RRB Technician and Group D) in the same region.
2. However, the candidate cannot apply for the same post in different regions.
3. To apply for both the posts, candidates should qualify as per the eligibility requirements mentioned in the Official Notifications.

Q. Now I have applied for RRB group d exam in Bangalore zone, if I’m selected can I go to other state like Tamil Nadu?
The Answer to your question is: NO
You have applied for RRB GROUP D EXAM in BANGLORE ZONE,
If you are selected in the final list, you will be posted in the BANGALORE ZONE ONLY.

It may be noted that candidates can choose only one RRB and indicate their preference of Railway Units and posts against vacancies notified for the chosen RRB only.

1. What is the name and date to be written on a photograph, while applying for the RRB ALP and group D posts?
The photograph to be uploaded in the online application form for both RRB ALP and Group D Posts 2018 should comply with the following requirements.
  • The Color passport photograph should have white/light color background.

  • The Color passport photograph should be of size 35mm X 45mm with name and date printed on it.

  • The Color passport photograph should be in JPG/JPEG format scanned with 100 DPI (Dots Per Inch).

  • The Color passport photograph should be of size between 20-50 KB.

  • The Color passport photograph must have been taken on or after 01-12-2017 (December 1, 2017) in a professional studio. Photographs taken using mobile and self-composed portraits may result in rejection of application.

  • The Color passport photograph should have clear front view of the candidate without cap and sunglasses.

  • The face should occupy at least 50% of the area of the photograph with a full face view looking at the camera directly.

  • The main features of the face must not be covered by hair of the head, any cloth or any shadow.

  • Fore head, eyes, nose and chin should be clearly visible.

  • In case the candidate wears glasses, the photograph should not have any glare on glasses.

  • The Color passport photograph must match with the candidate appearance on the day of various stages of recruitment process viz. Computer Based Test and further processes.

  • PWD (Persons with Disability) candidates should also upload passport photograph as per above specifications only and not the full body photograph used in the disability certificate.

  • Candidates are advised to keep at least 12 (Twelve) copies of the same photograph for further use as and when required during the recruitment process.

  • Note: The name of the candidate and the date on which he/she is applying for the post (the date can be in between starting and closing date of application) should be printed on the photograph. Candidates can visit the nearest Internet Center or can use the tools like Paint or Photoshop, to add name and date to the photograph.
