1. What is a Cut-Off Score and how is it useful?
Cut-off Score, is the minimum qualifying score decided by the exam conducting authorities that the candidates must achieve in order to qualify the exam. Knowledge and Analysis of the Cut-off trends of previous years will help the candidates in estimating and understanding the difficulty level (standards) of the exam, the expected cut-offs for the current year and the amount of preparation required to ace the exam. The information will aid the students in devising an effective study plan to clear the expected cut-offs.
2. What are IBPS PO Cut Off Scores?
IBPS PO/MT 2019 selection procedure is a 3 phase process:
Phase – I: Preliminary Examination
Phase – II: Main Examination
Phase – III: Interview.
IBPS PO/MT 2019 Cut-off score is the set of all (Sectional and Overall) minimum qualifying marks, decided by the bank, to be secured by candidates for getting selected to the next round of recruitment process. Only those who have secured the cut-off scores in the preliminary exam will be called for the next phase i.e. the Mains exams. And candidates, who score the required IBPS PO/MT cut off score in mains, will be invited for the next round of recruitment process i.e. Personal interview. If candidates do not score the required cut-off score in a particular phase, the candidate will be disqualified from the selection process.
Note:
Marks obtained in the main examination only will be considered for shortlisting for interview and also for final merit listing.
3. What is a Sectional Cut-Off Score?
IBPS PO/MT Prelims and Mains exam have different sections such as the English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge. A sectional cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks, decided by the bank, to be secured by the candidates in each of the above-mentioned sections.

4. What is an Overall Cut off?
The overall cut off is the total marks which candidates must secure to pass the IBPS PO/MT recruitment exam. Only those candidates, who secure the prescribed overall cut off score, will be declared qualified. To qualify for the next phase of IBPS PO/MT, candidates have to clear both the sectional and the overall cut off score in their respective categories.
