Federal Bank Officers General Instructions

shape Introduction

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions are provided to familiarize the candidates with the different policies and regulations of the Examination, Examination center and in general about the Do's and Dont's in the recruitment process. This chapter covers the instructions pertaining to but not limited to: what kind of stationery items to be carried inside the examination hall, particulars to be noted, during the examination, end of the examination, proof of identity to be submitted, action against guilty of misconduct found.
(i) Before filling in the online application form, the candidate must ensure that he/ she fulfills all the eligibility criteria with respect to age, educational qualifications/ domicile etc. and that the particulars furnished in the application form are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility criteria, and/ or that he/ she has furnished any incorrect information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/ her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these anomalies is/ are detected even after the appointment, his/ her services are liable to be terminated.
(ii) Decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced at the time of online aptitude test, group discussion, interview, selection etc. and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final and binding on the candidates. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be entertained by the Bank in this regard.
(iii) The Bank reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standard, etc., in order to restrict the number of candidates to be called for online aptitude test, group discussion and interview commensurate with the number of vacancies.
(iv) Eligible candidates have to appear for the selection process/ online aptitude test/ interview at their own expense at the venue and date notified by the Bank. An application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the application fee once paid will NOT BE refunded on any account nor would be held in reserve for any future online aptitude test or selection. The application fee shall also NOT BE refunded in case the application is rejected / not considered by Federal Bank.
(v) The candidates should bring the following documents while coming for the online aptitude test - Call letter along with a valid photo identity proof in original and photocopy (such as Aadhar Card/ PAN card/ Passport/ Voter ID Card/ Driving License or any other valid proof of identification with a photograph).
(vi) Candidates are advised not to change their appearance till the recruitment process is complete.
(vii) Request for change of address/ change of center for selection process/ online aptitude test/ interview shall not be entertained.
(viii) The Bank has the right to reject any application/ candidature at any stage without assigning any reason and the decision of the Bank shall be final.
(ix) Appointments of selected candidates will be subject to his/ her being declared medically fit by the Bank’s Medical Officer, satisfactory report about his/ her character and antecedents by the Police Authorities, satisfactory references from respectable referees, verification of caste/ tribe certificate (for reserved category candidates only) and completion of all other pre-recruitment formalities to the complete satisfaction of the Bank. Further, such appointment shall also be subject to Service and Conduct Rules of the Bank.
(x) The Bank takes no responsibility for any delay in submission of online applications or communication.
(xi) The access to the Bank’s website could be delayed towards the closing date for submitting the online registration due to heavy internet traffic. So, the candidates are advised to avoid last minute rush and make use of the time span available for submitting the applications online. Candidates in their own interest are advised to submit online applications well before the last date.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Prohibited Items to the Exam Center:
  • Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/ Scanner.
  • Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc.
  • Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hairpin, Hairband, Belt, Cap, Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, Any metallic item, Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle.
  • Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, blue tooth devices etc.
Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Particulars to be Noted
  • Please note carefully your Roll Number, date, time and venue for the examination given.
  • Please do not bring any valuable belongings except the essential materials required for the examinations.
  • Students should report at the centre
  • Do not leave your seat unless you are allowed.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Punctuality in Attendance
  • Candidates should be present at the examination hall at least 30 minutes prior to reporting time.
  • Candidates arriving late will not be permitted to enter the Examination Hall.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Compliance with Instructions
  • You should scrupulously follow the instructions given by test administrators and the invigilators at all the stages of the examination for which you have been called.
  • If you violate the instructions you will be disqualified and may also be asked to leave the examination hall.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Use of Books, Notes, Calculators & Cell Phones
  • No calculator separate or with watch is allowed inside the examination hall.
  • No Cell phones will be allowed inside the examination hall.
  • No books, slide rulers, note books or written notes will be allowed inside the examination hall.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Use of Stationery
  • You must bring stationery such as pencils and ball point pen with you.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Rough work
  • You should do all the necessary rough work on a sheet provided only. After the online test is over, you should hand over the sheet, given for rough work to the invigilator.
  • Any candidate who does not return the above material or is found to attempt to take or pass on the questions or answers inside or outside the examination hall will be disqualified and the Bank may take further action against him as per rules of the Bank.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Guidelines for Photograph
Before applying online, a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/ her photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned below.
a) Photograph Image:
  • Photograph must be a recent passport style color picture.

  • Make sure that the picture is in color, taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.

  • Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face.

  • If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows.

  • If you have to use flash, ensure there's no "red-eye".

  • If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.

  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover your face.

  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred).

  • Size of file should be between 20kb–50 kb.

  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50kb. If the size of the file is more than 50 kb, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colors etc., during the process of scanning.

b) Signature Image:
  • The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.

  • The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.

  • The same signature should be put on the Attendance sheet and wherever necessary.

  • The applicant's signature obtained on the call letter and attendance sheet at the time of the online aptitude test should match the uploaded signature. In case of mismatch, the applicant may be disqualified.

  • Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred).

  • Size of file should be between 10kb – 20kb.

  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20kb.

c) Guidelines – Scanning the photograph & Signature:
  • Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch).

  • Set Color to True Color.

  • File Size as specified above.

  • Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).

  • The image file should be in JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is: image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensions can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon.

  • Candidates using MS Windows/ MSOffice can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding 50kb & 20kb respectively by using MS Paint or MSOffice Picture Manager. Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using “Save As” option in the File menu and size can be reduced below 50 kb (photograph) & 20 kb(signature) by using crop and then resize option (Please see point (i) & (ii) above for the pixel size) in the “Image” menu. Similar options are available in other photo editors also.

  • If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed.

  • While filling in the Online Application Form the candidate will be provided with a link to upload his/ her photograph and signature.

d) Procedure for Uploading the Photograph and Signature:
  • There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature.

  • Click on “Choose File” Button.

  • Browse and Select the location where the Scanned Photograph/ Signature file has been saved.

  • Select the file by clicking on it.

  • Click the “Open/Upload” button.

  • Your Online Application will not be registered unless you upload your photograph and signature as specified.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - During Examination
  • You are not allowed to communicate by word of mouth or otherwise with other candidates (this includes the time when answer scripts are being collected).

  • Please raise your hand if you wish to communicate with an invigilator.

  • Unless granted permission by an invigilator, you are not allowed to leave your seat.

  • Once you have entered the examination hall, you will not be allowed to leave the hall until one hour after the examination has commenced.

  • If for any reason, you are given permission to leave the hall temporarily, you must be accompanied by an invigilator throughout your absence from the examination hall. You are required to leave your handphone on your desk when you leave the hall temporarily.

  • All answers, with the exception of graphs, sketches, diagrams, etc. should be written in black or blue pen unless otherwise specified. Answers written in pencil will not be marked. The blank pages in the answer book are to be used only for candidates' rough work. Solutions or any other materials written on these blank pages will not be marked.

  • Do not write on, mark, highlight or deface any reference materials provided for the examination. If found doing so, the reference materials will be removed from your use for the rest of the examination and you will be made to pay for the cost of the materials that have to be replaced.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - End of the Examination
  • You are NOT allowed to leave the examination hall during the last 15 minutes of the examination and during the collection of the answer scripts. All candidates must remain seated throughout this period for invigilators to properly account for all answer scripts to be collected.

  • Do NOT continue to write after the examination has ended. You are to remain seated quietly while your answer scripts are being collected and counted.

  • No papers, used or unused, may be removed from the examination hall. You may take your own question paper with you unless otherwise instructed.

  • You are to stay in the examination hall until the Chief Invigilator has given the permission to leave. Do NOT talk until you are outside of the examination hall.

  • You are responsible to ensure that your answer scripts are submitted at the end of the examination. If you are present for the examination and do not submit your answer script, you will be deemed to have sat for and failed the examination concerned. Any unauthorized removal of answer script or part of answer script from the examination hall would deem the answer script as null and void.

  • Once dismissed, you should leave the examination hall quickly and quietly, and remember to take your personal belongings with you.

Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Proof of Identity:
The candidates must bring one photo identity proof such as passport/ Adhar/ PAN Card/ Driving License/ Voter's Id Card/ Bank Passbook with duly attested Photograph/ Identity Card issued by School or College/ Gazetted Officer in the official letterhead in original as well as a self-attested Photocopy thereof. The photocopy of Identity proof should be submitted along with call letter to the invigilators in the examination hall, failing which or if an identity of candidates is in doubt the candidate will not be permitted to appear for the test.
Federal Bank Officers General Instructions - Guilty of Misconduct:
Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered with or fabricated and should not suppress any material information while submitting online application. At the time of online aptitude test, interview or in a subsequent selection procedure, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of:
(i) Using unfair means or
(ii) Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person or
(iii) misbehaving in the online aptitude test/ interview hall or disclosing, publishing, reproducing, transmitting, storing or facilitating transmission and storage of contents of the test(s) or any information therein in whole or part thereof in any form or by any means, verbal or written, electronically or mechanically for any purpose or
(iv) Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/ her candidature or
(v) Obtaining support for his/ her candidature by unfair means, or
(vi) Carrying mobile phones or similar electronic devices of communication in the online aptitude test/ interview hall, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself/ herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable:
    a. to be disqualified from the online aptitude test for which he/ she is a candidate.
    b. to be debarred either permanently or for a specified period from any online aptitude test conducted by the bank.
    c. for termination of service, if he/ she has already joined the Bank.
