Introduction
The EPFO Assistant Selection Process involves two phases: Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. Preliminary examination would be held on [latex]{30}^{th}[/latex], July and [latex]{31}^{st}[/latex], July. Candidates who will clear the prelims exam will proceed to the EPFO Assistant Mains Exam.
Phases
- EPFO Assistant Prelim Exam is an Objective Type exam.
- EPFO Assistant Prelim Exam has a duration of 1 hour and Maximum Marks: 100.
- EPFO Assistant Prelim Exam has 3 sections as shown below.
- EPFO Assistant Prelim Exam will be conducted in both English and Hindi Languages.
- EPFO Assistant Prelim Exam is a qualifying exam for EPFO Assistant Mains exam.

Note:
- For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of [latex]\frac{1}{4}[/latex] of the mark assigned to that question.
- The candidates will be shortlisted for Phase-II in the ratio of 1:10 i.e. about 10 times the number of vacancies in each category on the basis of their performance in Phase - I.
- If the examination is held in more than one session, the scores across various sessions will be equated following standard practice to adjust for slight differences in difficulty level of different test batteries used across sessions.
- EPFO Assistant Mains Exam is a combination of both objective and descriptive type.
- EPFO Assistant Mains Exam has a duration of 2 hours 45 Minutes and Maximum Marks: 230.
- EPFO Assistant Mains Exam has 4 sections + One descriptive section as shown below.
- EPFO Assistant Mains Exam will be conducted in both English and Hindi Languages.
- EPFO Assistant Mains Exam is a qualifying exam for the EPFO Assistant Mains exam.

Note:
- The marks obtained in Phase – II will be considered for final selection.
- For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of [latex]\frac{1}{4}[/latex] of the mark assigned to that question.
- Descriptive paper will be completely online, i.e. the questions will be displayed on the screen and the candidates will have to type the answers using keyboard.
- The descriptive paper will be conducted online immediately after completion of the online objective test of Phase-II Main Examination.
Qualifying Marks: Qualifying Marks in Phase-I (Preliminary Exam.) and Phase – II (Main Exam.) will be decided as per discretion of EPFO. Process for Arriving at Scores- If the examination is held in more than one session, the process of moderation will follow to ensure fairness (More than one session are required if the nodes capacity is less or some technical disruption takes place at any center or for any candidate.).
Note: Cut-offs are applied in two stages: a. on scores in individual tests
b. on Total Score
RESOLUTION OF TIE CASES
In cases where more than one candidate secure the equal aggregates marks in Phase-II, the tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:
i) Date of Birth, with older candidates, placed higher.
ii) Alphabetical order in which names of the candidates appear.
