What is BITSAT?
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani is one of the top institutions in India offering engineering and technology courses as well as other professional courses like M.Sc, MBA. It has status of a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) is a computer-based Test (CBT) admission test conducted by BITS, Pilani for its integrated first-degree programmes to the various campuses of BITS.
BITSAT is an entrance test to get admission in any of three BITS campuses i.e. BITS Pilani Campus, K.K.Birla Goa Campus and the Hyderabad Campus. The test will be held during the month of May every year. Students must choose the preferred test center while filling the application and as well as time slot for appearing the exam.

History of BITS:

• The Birla Education Trust was founded in the year 1929; earlier the college offered only intermediate courses later changed to a degree college and then offered PG courses.


• The institute was established in the year 1964. During this period, the institute's transformation from a regional engineering college to a national university was backed by G.D. Birla. BITS, since then, has expanded to campuses at Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai.


• Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani or BITS) is a private institute of higher education. The institute is one among the 6 Indian 'Institutes of Eminence' recognized by the Government of India in 2018.


• BITS established across 4 campuses and has 15 academic departments. It focuses primarily on higher education in engineering and sciences and on its management programme.

BITS Pilani provides three tire academic structure, First Degree, Higher degree and Ph.D.

• First Degree:
  The required qualification is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The offered degree programs include 7 Professional courses, 5 Integrated MSc. courses and 3 Integrated MSc. Tech. courses. Some students may opt to do more than one first degree programs under Dual Degree Scheme.


• Higher Degree:
  The required qualification is First Degree from BITS or its equivalent. The offered degree programs include 14 Masters in Engineering Programs, M. Pharmacy, MPH and MBA.


• Off-campus programs:
  BITS Pilani offers off-campus programs for students which will help them to get work experience in industry.
