• Candidates can visit the Aarogya Setu Mobile App Official Page where there are options to download from "play store" or "IOS Store"


• Open the app.


• Select the language of your choice.


• Go through certain number of screens informing about the app.


• Provide the required permission and always keep your Bluetooth on while using this app.


• Click on I Agree.


• Then, you will have to provide your 10-digit mobile number, on which an OTP will be sent.


• Fill in the required details and click on the submit option.

The Aarogya Setu app checks with the help of Bluetooth, location and mobile number that you do not come in contact with someone who has got corona infection.
The app also includes more important information such as COVID-19 Help Centers and Self Assessment Test, so that you can check if you are at risk of infection.

Once you are into the app, the app will scan your location and share the your data with the government in case you’ve been tested positive for coronavirus or have been in close contact with a person who was tested positive.
Besides this, the app also has a dedicated a chat bot that asks you a series of questions to determine if you have any symptoms of COVID - 19 as well as inform you about the various facilities and updates from the health ministry along with a series of helpline numbers nationally and state-wise.

It's genuine but completely relies on self declaration of the individual which actually defeats the purpose but govt can't do beyond that ideal solution should have been to tie NFC bands to positive or quarantine patients and take the NFC inputs along with self declaration. However, as we know some people will have problem as their religion comes everywhere, so it'll come in wearing nfc bands too.

Aarogya Setu app has been developed by the National Informatics Centre. The aim of the app is “augmenting” efforts to “proactively” inform the citizens about the “best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of COVID-19”.

The app is useful only when a very large section of the population installs the app and gives all the tracking permissions to the government. Just a handful installations would be completely useless.
The app is quite a big privacy risk. Your every movement will be traced, wherever you are. It could be as specific as when and how many times you visited the loo and time spent there. You could be questioned if you stepped out of your house for emergency provisions. If people don't uninstall the app after the lock down is over, their movements across the city and country will be recorded.
