UPSC IFS Selection Process

UPSC IFS Selection process happens in 3 stages: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations (Objective Type) and Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written) and Interview (Personality Test).

UPSC IFS Selection Process - Preliminary Exam Pattern:
UPSC IFS Selection Process - Preliminary Exam
Number of question papers Two (Paper-1 and Paper-2)
Type of questions Objective type
Total marks 400 marks (200 marks each paper)
Duration of the exam 2 hours for each paper (For blind candidates - 20 minutes EXTRA)
Exam Language Hindi and English
Scheme of negative marking For every incorrect answer [latex]\frac{1}{3}[/latex] marks will be deducted

Paper-II General Knowledge 300 Marks
Paper-III

Any two subject to be selected from the list of the optional subjects

200 Marks (For Each Paper)

Paper-VI
Total 1400
