Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organization under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries, Departments and Subordinate Offices. Founded in the year 1977.
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for SSC JHT on its official website. SSC is conducting the Junior Hindi Translator exam for the recruitment of various posts including Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India.

History of Staff Selection Commission: The Estimates committee in the Parliament recommended the setting up of a Service Selection Commission in its 47th report (1967–68) for conducting examinations to recruit lower categories of posts. Later, in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms,
  • on 4 November 1975 Government of India constituted a commission called Subordinate Service Commission.

  • On 26 September 1977, Subordinate Services Commission was renamed as Staff Selection Commission.

  • The functions of Staff Selection Commission were redefined by The Government of India through Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on 21 May 1999.

  • Then the new constitution and functions of Staff Selection Commission came into effect from 1 June 1999.

  • Every year SSC conducts the SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination for recruiting non-gazetted officers to various government jobs.

Headquarters of Staff Selection Commission: Staff Selection Commission has its headquarters located at New Delhi. At present it has seven Regional offices at Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore. It also has two Sub- Regional offices at Raipur and Chandigarh. Each Regional office is headed by a Regional Director and each Sub-Regional office is headed by a Deputy Director.

SSC JHT Recruitment Positions: The Staff Selection Commission will hold an open competitive examination for recruitment of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. The details of various posts are as under:

B Junior Translator in M/o Railways (Railway Board) Level-6 (Rs.35400- 112400)
C Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) Level-6 (Rs.35400- 112400)
D Junior Translator (JT)/Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) in subordinate offices who have adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/ JHT Level-6 (Rs.35400- 112400)
E Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices Level-7 (Rs.44900- 142400)
F Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI) Level-8 (Rs.47600- 151100)

Classification of posts: As per DOPT‟s Order No.11012/10/2016-Estt A-III dated 08.12.2017, the above posts have been classified as Group "B" Non Gazetted post.
