The National Eligibility Entrance Test or NEET-UG is an entrance examination in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS), dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in government or private medical colleges in India. NEET-UG (Undergraduate), for MBBS and BDS courses, are conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which also conducts NEET-SS in partnership with Pro metric Testing Pvt Ltd headquartered in the USA. National Testing Agency (NTA) will release NEET 2020 cutoff percentile along with the release of bulletin at the official website of NEET.

1. What does the minimum qualifying percentile of NEET cut off mean? NEET 2020 cutoff is the minimum qualifying percentile to be secured to pass the entrance test. The calculation of percentile depends on several factors including number of appearing students, difficulty level of paper, performance of test takers and others.
2. Is securing the NEET 2020 cut off percentile ensures admission to the medical and dental colleges? By securing minimum NEET cut off 2020 percentile, an aspirant only becomes eligible to participate for counselling process. The cutoff scores of NEET 2020 equivalent to percentile will be announced along with the result.
3. If a candidate qualifies NEET, then is s/he eligible to participate in the counselling process? Candidates qualifying the exam will be eligible to participate in the counselling process. It must be noted that mere qualification does not ensure admission to a medical or dental seat.
4. Why does the NEET Cut off percentile remain the same while the Cut off marks vary every year? NEET Cut off percentile has been provided by Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India and is fixed at 50th percentile for unreserved category candidates and 40th percentile for reserved category candidates. The percentile depends on the relative score of all the candidates who have appeared in the exam. Therefore, the corresponding marks to the percentile vary each year as the performance of candidates will also be different.
5. Does scoring marks equal to or more than the NEET cutoff score makes the candidate eligible for the counselling of state quota seats? The eligibility for state quota seats depends on the state counselling authorities. Candidates seeking admission to state quota seats will be required to at least obtain marks equal to NEET 2020 cut off but this sole requirement will not make them eligible for the state quota seats. There could be domicile requirements as well.
6. Will the NEET cutoff 2020 be considered valid in the next academic year as well? No, the result of NEET is valid for one year only. Therefore, the cutoff of NEET 2020 will also be considered for that particular year.
7. What was cut off for previous years NEET exam? The qualifying percentile of NEET 2019 was 50 percentile for general category with corresponding scores range of 701-134, while for SC/ST/OBC, it is 40 percentile with the marks range of 133-107.
8. Will NEET 2020 cut off drop? The cutoff depends on various factors like the number of candidates appearing in the exam, their performance, and sanctioned seats. If any of these factors change, cutoff may also change.
