ECGC PO General instructions are provided to familiarize the candidates with the different policies and regulations of the Examination, Examination center and in general about the Do's and Dont's in the recruitment process. This chapter covers the instructions pertaining to but not limited to : what kind of stationery items to be carried inside the examination hall, particulars to be noted, during examination, end of examination, proof of identity to be submitted, action against guilty of misconduct found.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Examination Centre:
Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner.
Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc.
Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hairpin, Hairband, Belt, Cap, Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, Any metallic item, Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle.
Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, blue tooth devices etc.
Note:
All ornaments like Ring, Earrings, Nose pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc. will be thoroughly checked.
All personal belongings (such as bags, pouches, ear/headphones, laptops etc.) must be placed at the designated area outside the examination hall.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Particulars to be Noted
Please note carefully your Roll Number, date, time and venue for the examination given.
Please do not bring any valuable belongings except the essential materials required for the examinations.
Students should report at the centre
Do not leave seat unless allowed to leave.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Punctuality in Attendance
Candidates should be present at the examination hall at least 30 minutes prior to reporting time.
Candidates arriving late will not be permitted to enter the Examination Hall.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Compliance with Instructions
Candidates should scrupulously follow the instructions given by test administrators and the invigilators at all the stages of the examination for which they have been called.
If candidate violate the instructions he/she will be disqualified and may also be asked to leave the examination hall.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Books, Notes, Calculators & Cell Phones
No calculator separate or with watch is allowed inside the examination hall.
No Cell phones will be allowed inside the examination hall.
No books, slide rulers, note books or written notes will be allowed inside the examination hall.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Use of Stationery
Candidates must bring stationery such as pencils, ball point pen with them.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Rough work
Candidates should do all the necessary rough work on sheet provided only. After the online test is over, he/she should hand over the sheet, given for rough work to the invigilator and after the Descriptive Paper (DP) is over candidates should hand over the DP to the invigilator before leaving the room.
Any candidate who does not return the above material or is found to attempt to take or pass on the questions or answers inside or outside the examination hall will be disqualified and the Bank may take further action against him as per rules of the Bank.

ECGC PO General Instructions - Photograph & Signature
Before applying online, a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned below.
Scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph (4.5cm X 3.5cm) and signature adhere to the required specifications. Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
A recent, recognizable photograph (4.5cm X 3.5 cm) should be uploaded by the candidate in the online application form and the candidate should ensure that copies of the same are retained for use at various stages of the process. Candidates are also advised not to change their appearance till the process is completed. Failure to produce the same photograph at various stages of the process or doubt about identity at any stage could lead to disqualification.
Note:
An online application which is incomplete in any respect such as without proper photograph size and signature uploaded in the online application form/unsuccessful fee payment will not be considered as valid.
At Center
ECGC PO General Instructions - During Examination
Candidates are not allowed to communicate by word of mouth or otherwise with other candidates (this includes the time when answer scripts are being collected).
Candidates should raise the hand if he/she wish to communicate with an invigilator.
Unless granted permission by an invigilator, he/she are not allowed to leave the seat.
Once if a candidate entered the examination hall, he/she will not be allowed to leave the hall until one hour after the examination has commenced.
If, for any reason, candidates are given permission to leave the hall temporarily, he/she must be accompanied by an invigilator throughout their absence from the examination hall. Candidates are required to leave their handphone on the desk when they leave the hall temporarily.
All answers, with the exception of graphs, sketches, diagrams, etc. should be written in black or blue pen unless otherwise specified. Answers written in pencil will not be marked. The blank pages in the answer book are to be used only for candidates' rough work. Solutions or any other materials written on these blank pages will not be marked.
Do not write on, mark, highlight or deface any reference materials provided for the examination. If found doing so, the reference materials will be removed from his/her use for the rest of the examination and candidate will be made to pay for the cost of the materials that have to be replaced.
ECGC PO General Instructions - End of the Examination
Candidates are NOT allowed to leave the examination hall during the last 15 minutes of the examination and during the collection of the answer scripts. All candidates must remain seated throughout this period for invigilators to properly account for all answer scripts to be collected.
Do NOT continue to write after the examination has ended. Candidates are to remain seated quietly while their answer scripts are being collected and counted.
No papers, used or unused, may be removed from the examination hall. he/she may take their own question paper with them unless otherwise instructed.
Candidates are to stay in the examination hall until the Chief Invigilator has given the permission to leave. Do NOT talk until they are outside of the examination hall.
Candidates are responsible to ensure that the answer scripts are submitted at the end of the examination. If he/she are present for the examination and do not submit their answer script, the candidate will be deemed to have sat for and failed the examination concerned. Any unauthorized removal of answer script or part of answer script from the examination hall would deem the answer script as null and void.
Once dismissed, candidates should leave the examination hall quickly and quietly, and remember to take their personal belongings with them.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Proof of Identity:
The candidates must bring one photo identity proof such as passport/Adhar/PAN Card/Driving Licence/ (Contd. on next page...) Voter's Card/Bank Passbook with duly attested Photograph/Identity Card issued by School or College/ Gazetted Officer in the official letterhead in original as well as a self-attested Photocopy thereof. The photocopy of Identity proof should be submitted along with call letter to the invigilators in the examination hall, failing which or if identity of candidates is in doubt the candidate will not be permitted to appear for the test.
ECGC PO General Instructions - Action against misconduct:
(a) Candidates are cautioned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered/ fabricated and morphed photograph and they should not suppress any material information while filling up the application form. Candidature will be immediately canceled in case any such document/ photograph is found.
(b) At the time of examination/ Interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of:
✶ Using unfair means during the examination or
✶ Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person or
✶ Misbehaving in the examination/interview hall or
✶ Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature for selection or
✶ Obtaining support for his/her candidature by any unfair means, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, will also be liable:
To be disqualified from the examination for which he/she is a candidate.
To be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment conducted by Bank.
