What is ACT about?
  • The ACT Test is a standardized test that measures a high school student’s academic skills and readiness for college by testing an individual knowledge.

  • ACT tests your English, math, science, and writing skills. It was created using extensive research into expected high school abilities and necessary college expectations. It is all about setting you up for success in college.

  • ACT is a test offered by a nonprofit organization, with the same name, ACT (American College Testing). This test is seen as one of the two major standard tests used in the United States for admission into colleges.

  • The ACT test is also often taken by students in the US to determine whether they are "ready for college". Sometimes, regardless of whether they are going to college or not, states and individual school districts require all high school students to take the ACT, using it to assess the students' learning and/or the performance of schools. It is used a standard of determining the academic performance and/or excellence of individual students, or schools at large.

    What is the Eligibility set out by the Board?
    • The College Board has no official specifications or criteria for an Aspirant to take the ACT but there are necessary things a test taker has to bear in mind before registering for the exam.

    Who is Eligible to take SAT?
    • According to the ACT eligibility criteria, the ACT test can be attempted by all candidates, irrespective of age and academic grade levels; students in grades 6, 7, 8 and 9, can also apply for ACT exam in addition to high school graduates.

    What is the age limit for SAT?
    • As ACT test score is accepted for college admission in the US, it is usually taken by high school graduates and those above the age of 13 years.

    When is the best time eligible for taking SAT by Aspirant?
    • Anytime can be the best especially if the aspirant is in high school but most preferable if the test taker is in the 10th or 11th grade.

    What language is ACT eligible written and taken in?
    • The Test is purely based on English Language only but aspirants might consider taking the ACT subject tests in 9 other languages like French, German and Spanish etc.

  • Unlike SAT which primarily measures the reasoning and verbal abilities of a test taker, or in other words the aptitude of a student, ACT test is a curriculum-based exam that evaluates what the student has learnt in school.

  • Conducted by the ACT, a nonprofit organisation, the test consists of four sections –English, Reading, Mathematics, and Science, in addition to an optional 40-minute writing test.

  • ACT 2020 scores are used by all four-year colleges and universities in the United States to supplement a candidate’s high school records, recommendation letters and other qualifications for undergraduate-level study.

  • As per the ACT 2020 eligibility criteria, the test requires a complete high school level knowledge. ACT exam is conducted six times a year in the US, US territories, Puerto Rico and Canada. In the rest of the countries, ACT is held on five test dates.

  • Also, according to the ACT exam pattern 2020, it does not have any negative marking.
