SharePoint Media Web Part

SharePoint Media Web Part

Media Web Part (MWP) is new Silverlight based web part that can be used to play videos and audios. Supported file formats are MP3, SWF (Flash), FLV/F4V (Flash Video), PDF, AVI, WMV, MP4, MPG, MPEG, YouTube, ASX, RTMP (Streaming Media), MOV, M4A, M4V (QuickTime), Prezi, Kaltura and Vimeo. The Web Part can also be used to display a single static movie by specifying a filename in the "Media File Name" parameter field.The Web Part also allows to play back YouTube videos.

The following parameters can be configured:

Sharepoint Library containing the media file(s) single movie/movie rotation mode Media Player dimensions Display of Title and Description information taken from the Sharepoint Library Display of a Playlist for manual selection of the media files to be played back Web Part Connection to a Sharepoint List or Library.

Example

  1. Go to the sharepoint site page click Edit Page.
  2. Choose a zone for the Web Part, and then click Add a Web Part in that zone. The Add Web Parts Web Page dialog box opens.
  3. In the Add Web Parts dialog box, here select the media and content Web Parts, select the Media Web Part check box, and then click Add.
After added the media webpart will get display like below, here we can upload Audio or video
